Johnsburg Thanksgiving Tournament Day 1: Impactful Shooters

I was in Johnsburg catching tipoff of opening night which consisted of 3 games all at the High School's main gymnasium. There was plenty of good guard play throughout the night. Comfortable handling the ball in transition on the primary break or in the ½ court setting. Presented a challenge all night on dribble drives ensuring defense drew contact to get to the stripe. Uses his size and mobility to advantage while scoring on 3 levels. Competed well with the ball in his hands making solid reads on drives for dish offs or kick outs. Smart passer with awareness and a strong frame for class. Hit a deep 3 off a dribble handoff and looked polished in rhythm doing so. Against more athleticism handled pressure with poise and confidence. Made the defense collapse on takes to either draw contact or spray it out for 3-point opportunities. Pressured the ball in zero gap spacing which caused multiple turnovers to speed the game up during first half action. Had at least 5 steals in the first 2 quarters alone. Used speed and quickness to work well in the break phase. Will handle it at times when necessary. Hit a couple 3's in rhythm in the second half to spark team's offense and gain momentum. Knocked down a catch and shoot from the wing and splashed in another out of zero gap pressure.
