Andrew Baxley | Prep Hoops Scout
The Falcons’ big man checks in just inside the Top 25 this time around. He was a new addition to the December Rankings Update, but now he makes a 20-spot jump after getting to see his progression this season. Slaughter is the top stretch big man in his class, and he proved that by putting up 12.7 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game on 40% 3FG (75-189). If he can grow an inch or two, DJ’s recruitment will soar sooner rather than later.

Slaughter could end up being better than many of the bigs around him simply because of how well he shoots it. He is a young Sophomore and is still growing up, so the potential of DJ is sky-high. For a full write-up on Slaughter, check out my game report for Ben Lippen’s matchup with Pinewood Prep.

was scorching hot from three in Ben Lippen’s win over Pinewood Prep. The 2028 big man put up 29 points on 8 3PM, punishing the Panthers almost every time they left him open for three. Slaughter looks to pop after most screens, either to the three-point line or in the pocket to the mid-range, but when he does roll, he is just as capable of finding an open teammate as the defense rotates to him. You can’t speak highly enough about DJ and what his shooting can mean to this Ben Lippen offense this year, but if he grows to 6’7″ or higher, the college coaches will come knocking fast.
