The Wright County West Preview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>GSL won the league in 24-25 and they are in a great spot to try and win the league again. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Conference Commentary</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Top Ten in State Potential</strong>: Annandale, GSL</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Cards return most of their key pieces from a 16 win team including their top two scorers. They sure have top ten potential and potential to win this league. They will be athletic and tough. The issue is they underachieved last year by a few games and the wonder is if they will overachieve this year. The talent is there. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coming into the year I think GSL is the favorite. They won it last year and they have a big time one-two scoring punch in Busse and Sonju that will be tough to locate and contest. What will really help them is having some role playing depth returning as well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Compete with Most</strong>:  NYA, Dassel-Cokato, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Litchfield, Rockford, Watertown-Mayer</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>NYA brings back their top two scorers but just three of their eight man rotation overall. They were a 16 win team and they will be big and tough again capable of winning 16 more games. Dassel-Cokato won just seven games last year but they are returning five guys that played last year so a step forward should come. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted is my sleeper to watch out for. They have a top scorer that was all league, another one of those in support, and up and coming really good sophomore, and three others returning that are experienced. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Litchfield is going to take a step forward. They have enough back from a ten win team to jump to .500 and if the chemistry is there, maybe even better. [player_tooltip player_id='2480990' first='Noah' last='Dietel'] averaged a double-double last season. Rockford is a bit of a mystery as they won 19 games last year but they did lose a ton of guys. They are a good program you can't count out but they don't have enough returning to be confident in a high prediction. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Watertown-Mayer is a sleeper too. They lost a lot to graduation and there are role spots that need to be filled for them to reach their goals. But returning a pair of double figure scorers from a 16 win team should keep them in the upper half. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Rebuilding:</strong> New London-Spicer</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>New London-Spicer did the bottom out part of the rebuilding last year winning one game but getting a lot of players experience.
