Tampa Area Team Preview: Bell Creek Academy

Bell Creek Panthers Varsity comes in ranked 5th for preseason rankings, The team has some new faces and a lot of firepower to make a strong run under Coach Jasric Johnson.    Pope, the senior guard, provides stability to the Panthers' offense. He has the remarkable ability to score double digits and double digits in assists every night. He will take on the challenging task of guarding the opposing team's best player and effectively locking them down. His above-the-rim play allows him to effortlessly finish in the paint and secure a high number of rebounds per game for the 6-foot guard. His unwavering desire to win is second to none, and he will undoubtedly be a key contributor to the team's success throughout the entire season.     Derrick's long stretch forward can light up the court from anywhere. His quickness and athleticism make him an impossible matchup for most teams. He can shoot deep or finish at the rack with a dunk. His length also helps him on defense by clogging up passing lanes and defending the hoop against bigger players. His versatility on the court will contribute to the Panthers' winning recipe.     Jaylen, this season, will be taking on the role of a combo guard. Throughout the season, he will be splitting the point guard and shooting guard roles. Jaylen has the ability to create his own shot or catch and shoot with the best of them. With the talent around him rising, his assists will be through the roof this season. Expect this guard to contribute on both sides of the ball. Jaylan will control the other team's backcourt by creating havoc with his defense. Jaylan will also light up the scoreboard in spurts on the other end.     Ocean, the senior wing, is an incredible catch-and-shoot shooter. When he's on a roll, he scores in spectacular fashion. He's also diversified his game with his drive and ability to finish above the rim in the paint. This catch-and-shoot wing consistently poses a threat to score.     Ariel, the Panthers' proclaimed big men, possesses a formidable arsenal of weapons. He aims to stretch the floor with his deep shooting ability which makes it difficult for other teams' big men to defend him. Muiniz, on the other hand, can play with his back to the basket, facilitating or attacking the basket at his convenience. His athleticism creates mismatches. He is poised to have a successful season, especially as he secures his college offers throughout the year.     Baran, a 6'5” small forward, poses a significant threat around the perimeter. His high shooting percentage makes him a valuable asset to the Panthers' offense. Baran's high IQ enables him to make smart shots and generate numerous assists. His unparalleled work ethic is evident in his dedication to the gym, working tirelessly from sunrise to sunset. This hard-working sophomore is poised to make a substantial impact throughout the season for Bell Creek.    The Junior Varsity team is powered by some young and up and coming players.    [player_tooltip player_id='2978763' first='Remy' last='Ramsey'], a sophomore in the program, is a snub-nosed defender who excels in man-to-man press coverage. He is one of the best trap defenders on the court and capable of causing guards to commit crucial turnovers during games. Additionally, Remy is a strong ball handler who can either facilitate plays or score himself. He has a high percentage shooting ability from behind the arc and mid-range. Remy has great ability to secure 6 plus boards a game as well. Remy's skills and potential, he is expected to make significant contributions to Bell Creek's success this season, leading to key plays and victories.     Melo, a downhill attack guard with exceptional ball handling and a knack for scoring in traffic.Melo can create his own shot and score as needed for the team. His high energy and determination make him a reliable scorer when you need him most.     Jayden, a guard that consistently finds ways to secure the jumpers he desires during the game. Whether it's a 10-foot shot for an 18-foot jumper, he's comfortable taking those shots in various game situations. He's also a strong rebounder in traffic. His elite handle keeps the defense on their toes, allowing him to drive at will or create open shots at will. Keep an eye on Jayden this season as a player and a scorer.     Toney, an 8th-grade point guard with a solid handle, is focused on including all his teammates In the offense. He excels at ball protection and maintains a low turnover ratio. Toney is also capable of driving or hitting open shots as the ball swings back around to him. Throughout this season, expect to witness significant growth and contributions from Toney. He will play a crucial role in the Panthers' backcourt.     Myron, a forward for the team, has a high motor and a knack for playing tough defense and rebounding. He's also a great facilitator out of the post, getting his guards and cutters easy looks from his passes. All season, Myron will be a menace on the boards and will protect the Panthers' paint.
