The College of DuPage Jamboree provided a platform for several former Illinois High school standouts to showcase their development at the junior college level. From explosive guards to battle-tested returners the event featured a mix of breakout performances and encouraging signs from familiar names across the state.

Javery Johnson – Prairie State (Homewood-Flossmoor) – 6'1

Johnson continues to prove why he's one of the more exciting guards in the region. The change-of-pace playmaker blew by defenders with his explosive first step and showed excellent command in the halfcourt. Whether creating for himself or setting up teammates Johnson looked composed and confident. Expect him to be a major piece of Prairie State's backcourt success this season.

Samar Buress – South Suburban (Rich Township) – 5'11

Returning for his sophomore season Buress looks sharper than ever. The lightning-quick guard used his elite speed to slice into the lane and finish through contact with acrobatic layups that have become his signature. His decision-making has noticeably improved giving South Suburban another dynamic scoring threat in the open floor.

Reggie Strong – Moraine Valley (Proviso East) – 6'2

Strong's return to the hardwood is nothing short of inspiring. After surviving a near-fatal car accident, the former Pirate showed tremendous poise and toughness in his first live action. He ran the offense efficiently, defended with energy, and looked like a seasoned leader on both ends. His story and play are both remarkable testaments to perseverance.

Joseph Pantazis – Wilbur Wright (Niles West) – 6'1

Pantazis lived up to his “sniper” label, burying four threes in one half. Several from well beyond the arc. His quick release and deep range made him a constant threat, but he also impressed with his ball movement and composure at the point. A pure shooter who spaces the floor at an elite level.

AJ Abrams – South Suburban (Eisenhower) – 6'2

Abrams looks noticeably stronger entering his second season and it's paying dividends. The physical guard finished through contact at the rim and held his ground defensively against bigger players. His improved strength allows him to defend multiple positions and anchor South Suburban's perimeter defense.

Darien Green – Prairie State (Christ the King) – 6'3

Fresh off a historic state run with Christ the King Green brought that same competitive edge to the Jamboree. The stocky guard attacked downhill with power, scored from mid-range, and provided timely offense for Prairie State. His toughness and shot-making give the Cyclones another reliable perimeter weapon.

Nashawn Holmes – Kankakee (Mount Carmel/St. Rita) – 6'4

Holmes' physical transformation is evident, and his play reflects it. The versatile combo guard scored efficiently from all three levels and used his strength to get to the rim with control. Defensively, he switched across positions and disrupted plays with his athleticism. Holmes' all-around game continues to trend upward.

Isaiah Green – South Suburban (Thornton) – 6'1

Green brought his trademark grit and defensive fire to the floor taking pride in guarding the opponent's top scorer. Offensively, he played with confidence, showing an improved jumper and assertiveness in transition. His leadership and two-way mentality make him a glue guy for the Bulldogs.

Dwayne Flowers – Prairie State (Prosser) – 6'2

Making his college debut Flowers wasted no time showcasing his creativity with the ball. The crafty guard displayed smooth handles, strong vision, and an ability to draw defenders and create for others. His poise and flair make him a promising new addition to a deep Prairie State roster.
