Oliver continued to show that he can get it done against tough competition. His ball security could use a little work; he seemed to lose some control when being smothered. Despite this his strong finishing in the paint and his rebounding really made a difference. A couple nice blocks from the kid as well. Should be an anchor for Olympus.

Williams held his own on Saturday in the post. Making multiple drop step shots over smaller defenders. He knows when he has a size advantage, and he sure knows how to use it. His footwork down low was impressive. He was also very solid all around on defense against all 5 positions. Mason was talking a bunch on defense which I think is so important. Great teammate, great effort.

In PH Utah Expo Preview 5 Players Excited to Watch - Prep Hoops, Hector mentioned this kid has the opportunity to become a standout talent. He did exactly that. The best big on the court Saturday in my eyes, he's quick and super lengthy. He showed an amazing touch both around the basket and from deep. His teammates were looking for him all day, and there wasn't much the opposing team could do to slow him. Plus, he was getting stops on the other end.

Another kid that showed he can anchor a team. His presence on offense as a screen setter and rim runner stood out to me. He had a knack for slipping to the rim at just the right time and making it easier on his teammates to get to their spots. He's a bruiser in the paint and will be able to protect the rim well for Pleasant Grove this year.

Monson stood out with his stature amongst the rest of the group, despite being one of the youngest players. He was a bit slow moving his feet to stay in front of his man at times. Given that he is as young as he is, he should have plenty of time to get faster. His post defense looked great to say the least. Showed some flashes of his ability to score in traffic too. Should be a great year to see his improvements and what kind of player he can become. Good start here.
