The Expo: Oregon – Team Two Scouting Reports

This past weekend, the Courts in Beaverton hosted the Prep Hoops Expo, hosting over 90 of the top players in the state of Oregon. We'll be going team by team to analyze each player's performance, continuing with Team Two.    All-around lead guard that came to the event and held his own. Didn't get a ton of opportunities to handle or shoot the ball, but made an impression when he did showing he had good quickness off the dribble and a nice touch on his pull-up jumper. The 5-foot-11 Hillsboro senior didn't back down from anyone on the defensive end and competed.     Quick point guard that made plays. The 6-foot combo guard equally slashed to the basket aggressively or pulled up from the outside for his own offense, while also getting the ball to teammates for open looks. Brought that same aggressive mentality to the defensive end with stick 'em on-the-ball D. As a bonus, the Hillsboro transfer rebounded well for his position.     Gritty guard who really excelled at getting downhill and using his strong body to finish through contact. Was very aggressive offensively looking to get into the lane whenever he could. Adjusted when the defense sagged off of him and hit some deep jumpers. Competed hard defensively and got some steals picking off errant passes.     Offensively as gifted as anyone we saw on the day. The 6-foot-2 Parkrose junior guard was instant offense - he smoothly drained jumpers from beyond the three-point arc, used dribble-drive moves and a quick first step to blow by defenders, and quickly got out in the open floor for easy transition buckets. Was opportunistic on the defensive end, playing the passing lanes for steals.     Smaller guard at 5-foot-9 played bigger than his size thanks to his heart and effort level. Played the game at a fast speed and unselfishly sought to play team basketball before looking for his own shot. Knocked down some nice pull-up jumpers and capably handled the ball against pressure. Should be one of the top returning players in 3A at Elmira.     Hard-nosed competitor who even as a small school standout from Trinity Lutheran fit right in. The 6-foot guard was fundamentally sound on both ends, so while he didn't get a lot of shooting opportunities he looked to move the basketball with the extra pass and lock in on defense. Showed toughness by not being afraid of getting physical.     Super fundamental guard that showed a great feel for the game and was a leader on the floor whenever he was in the game. Competed hard on both ends, took what the defense gave him, and made plays for both himself and teammates with incredible balance while also getting the job done on defense. Barlow graduates a lot of firepower but the return of the 6-foot junior guard will keep them competitive.     Arguably the top passer in the entire event. Unselfishly looked for others first, using his IQ, court vision, next-level decision making to deliver pinpoint passes for buckets. Capably showed that he could score as well, capably knocking down shots with touch out past three-point range. With his 6-foot-2 size, proved to be a triple-double threat with his ability to score, rebound, and dish out assists.     Simply put was a beast in the lane that could not be contained. The 6-foot-5 junior didn't just muscle defenders out of the way for rebounds and inside buckets but used his athleticism to leap over them as well. As tough as he was, the aggression was contained and the fact he's a lefty made him that much harder to defend. He was a major factor on both ends of the floor and should have a breakout season at Canby.    Lorenzo Leaks contributed to this report
