Team Preview: 6A Bingham

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Bingham Miners are coming off a solid season, highlighted by a 17-win record and a third-place finish in the challenging Region 2. The team demonstrated resilience throughout their rigorous schedule, achieving a remarkable seven-game winning streak. Their season concluded with a defeat against regional rival Corner Canyon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Toughest Schedule in the State?</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When it comes to scheduling, Bingham has been able to win a lot of games and maintain a tough schedule. That is one thing that will not change this coming season as they play against some of the best teams in the state. The Miners open up the season with the potential #1 team in the state in Timpview. Timpview featured two high-major Division 1 prospects ([player_tooltip player_id='1278448' first='Dean' last='Rueckert'], Will Openshaw), so they will have their hands full right off the bat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Schedule doesn't get any easier as they then take on American Fork, 5A State Champion Olympus, and defending 6A State Champion Davis. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Who's Coming Back</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Miners will rely on numerous players, as is typical, but several returning players are poised to lead the way. Foremost among them is [player_tooltip player_id='1278436' first='Luke' last='West']. West, a dynamic combo guard, possesses an explosive playing style. He has the potential to score 15 points per game on any given night against any opponent. It would be an understatement to expect even more from him this season, given his increased experience as a two-way player. West is a D1-bound guard who has more upside left in him. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another guard that you might need to get familiar with is Parker Sneadeker, a very lanky 6'3 guard that can also handle the ball and play on the wing. Sneadeker could easily bolster his stats by attacking the rim and also shooting the ball consistently from beyond the arc. Sneadeker is a no-brainer D2 player, but could get snagged up by a smart JUCO. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bingham does have a player who provides size for them, and that is [player_tooltip player_id='2388584' first='Lucas' last='Neidig']. Neidig is currently playing football and has D1 talent on the football field, but his strength and versatility on the basketball floor are what Bingham hopes to harness. Lucas has been able to find a perimeter game, but he will need to be more in tune with his game inside, setting screens and rolling, as he could impact the game a lot with that set of skills he has. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>New Comers</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bingham has been able to find success with a lot of upperclassmen, but they do have a few players in the fold who show promise and are young. Carson Edmonds is a player with some positional size who could really lock in and help this team out. If not now, in the future for sure. Another player you need to keep your eye on is [player_tooltip player_id='2809191' first='Brayden' last='James'], a wing that is coming in as a freshman at around 6'4 that has true next-level wing potential. James can shoot and attack, and as soon as he gets stronger and more confident, you will see him on the floor. Bingham also has a PG in Derek Peterson that has the build and athleticism to be a prospect to garner college attention. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Overview</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bingham is a team that plays defense and has that next man up mentality, so they will find depth one way or another. With a tough schedule, it is hard to say what their record will be and how they will fare, but one thing is for sure: Bingham will compete against anyone and anywhere. Look for them to climb up the ladder in Region 2 once again.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
