Recruiting Report: 2020 Ishmael Leggett
2020 Ishmael Leggett has been a key contributor on the young St. John’s team this year. He is currently listed as number 8 in our Maryland/DC rankings and has definitely been showing why he is in our top 10 rankings. He brings good length to the court which helps in a variety of ways on both sides of the ball. He can score at all levels but for him he keeps on showing that it all starts on defense for him.
” I am just gritty, everything starts on defense for me. If my defense isn’t on, my offense will not be on so I try to get going defensively early.”
A few weeks ago the talented sophomore picked up his first scholarship offer from George Washington, “It is a blessing, that’s everyone’s dream to get that first one and then hopefully the other ones just start rolling in if I play well. I like how they play and the atmosphere in the gym is nice so GW is a really nice school”
Another school that he recently visited was VCU, “I visited VCU and went to a game there, the atmosphere there is crazy, they have a lot of fans there, the gym is jam packed and the gym is just always lit.”
There has also been a school outside of the DMV that is staying in touch with him, “I haven’t been to Oklahoma State yet but the coaches have been talking to me and I think it is certainly a school that could work out.”
