Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Cooper is another key piece on this 7-1 Garner Road 3SSB 16u team that has been making real statements with their performances on the circuit. During the live period session in Indiana, Cooper averaged 11.3 Points, 3.3 Rebounds, 1.5 Assists, and 1.3 Steals per game. Cooper is a reliable outside shooter that possesses the necessary size and athleticism to make a real difference on the defensive end of the floor as well. Cooper will be making the move to Leesville Road High School where he looks to have a big June and build his recruiting profile as he’s proven to be a bonafide next level talent. Cooper’s low maintenance and consistent production will make him a real target for next level schools.

Cooper is a gifted wing prospect with real perimeter skill that made some news by announcing his intention to transfer to Leesville Road High School next season. This past weekend he helped lead this Garner Road 3SSB 16u team to a 3-1 record this past weekend. He averaged 12.8 Points, 2.8 Rebounds, 2.3 Assists, and 1.0 Steals per game with 56/43/67 shooting splits. Cooper is a reliable catch and shoot option from distance with the ability to attack a closeout and play above the rim. He finds a way to be an impactful offensive player without having to possess the ball at a high volume but is more than capable of making plays for others when needed. Cooper’s best basketball is still ahead of him but it’s great to see him produce on a winning team like this and is a guy to monitor closely in NC’s 2028 class.

Cooper possesses a great blend of size, skill, and a low maintenance style that will allow him to shine in front of college coaches. Cooper is in great shape, capable of playing big minutes with a high motor, and can bully weaker defenders when the opportunity presents itself. Cooper can get hot from the outside in an instant, he will swing multiple games with his shooting as he’ll be back with Garner Road 16u 3SSB this spring/summer. Cooper’s blend of catch n shoot ability with his downhill athleticism make him an ideal wing guard for a lot of programs. I fully expect his production to reflect his improvement this spring/summer on a Garner Road team that looks to be primed to do quite a bit of winning this year. If he can bring consistent production to this group, I fully expect more attention to come his way quickly.

During the event, Cooper didn’t have the greatest offensive showing but showed why he’s considered one of the top 2028 guys in the area. He plays the right way and is super active on the defensive end, whether on ball or playing in the passing lane he always finds a way to be in the correct guarding position.

Cooper is a smooth shooting off ball guard that is starting to really come into his own with his athleticism and skillset. He is becoming a more confident player in his overall game largely because of how hard he plays the entire game. That allows him to produce which makes him believe in his game that much more. Cooper controls the ball well for a wing of his size, he can make big above the rim plays in transition, along with knocking shots down from the outside, especially from the corner. Cooper has the potential to be a truly great impact defender and shows it in spurts. As he continues to develop his body and refine his game, expect Cooper to find himself recruited at the division one level.
