This past Sunday, the 2028 Sophomore ID Camp gave us a real look at some of the top names in Florida's rising sophomore class. With scouts and evaluators on hand, it was a chance for players to prove where they stand heading into the fall — and several made their presence felt.

This is just the first of many breakdowns to come, as every prospect will be highlighted in this ongoing series. Here's a look at some of the early standouts from the event:

[player_tooltip player_id='2531930' first='Ethan' last='Mott'] | F | @MottEthan73885

At 6-6, Mott used his size and versatility to impact the floor in multiple ways. He knocked down shots from the perimeter, battled on the glass, and showed good instincts on defense. His ability to stretch the floor while rebounding at a high rate makes him a forward to watch closely in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2195017' first='Branden' last='Sharpe'] | G/F | @BrandenRazor

Sharpe came in as one of the more polished prospects and didn't disappoint. Likely my overall player of the day, he attacked the rim with confidence, scored in different ways, and showed he can be effective on both ends of the floor. Adding more consistency from deep will only raise his ceiling.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242995' first='King' last='McMillian'] | G | Hilliard | @king_mcmillian0

McMillian once again proved why he's regarded as one of the top prospects in 2028. His smooth release and ability to find space made him a constant threat, whether in transition or the half-court. He also showed a high IQ, making smart reads and defensive plays throughout the day. Coaches need to add him on their radars this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2195027' first='Jaydon' last='Shannon'] | G | @JaydonShannon

Shannon plays with poise and control, never rushing the game. He made smart decisions with the ball, found ways to contribute without forcing shots, and brought strong defensive presence. He's also added height to his frame, starting to fill out as a legit prospect. His maturity stood out in the camp setting.

[player_tooltip player_id='2932405' first='Torre' last='Washington'] | W | @TorreWashingto2

At 6-5, Washington was one of the most intriguing wings in the gym. He used his length to defend multiple positions, knocked down tough shots, and played with the kind of energy that grabbed attention. Really impressed with his overall upside, definitely one of the breakout performers from the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2825731' first='Tajuan' last='“TJ” Mills Jr'] | G | Lake Highland Prep | @TajuanJrr

Mills brought his usual attacking style, constantly putting pressure on the defense. He got downhill, drew fouls, and played with the same aggressive approach that's made him one of the more consistent guards this offseason. He's also added some size to his frame and confidence to his game. I like this kid's overall upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2622579' first='Johnas' last='Maurice II'] | G | Lake Howell | @J_babyj15

Maurice set the tone with toughness and energy. Maybe my surprise of the day, this kid can really hoop. He attacked the rim hard, shot the ball well, defended with grit, and played through contact. If his outside shot continues to develop, his stock will climb fast.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194579' first='Jaden' last='Clardy'] | G | Booker T. Washington | @jclardy4

Clardy shows maturity in how he approaches the game. He moves well without the ball, creates scoring chances by finding open pockets in the defense, and makes overall winning plays. His poise and decision-making allow him to stay effective even when the pace picks up. Good showing this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2531929' first='Curtis' last='Giles'] | G | @Fooleycj

Giles stood out on both sides of the ball, using his quickness and instincts to disrupt passing lanes. Offensively, his first step and playmaking ability gave him opportunities to create. He flashed the tools of a guard who could rise quickly in this class. He's a lengthy athlete who I was impressed by throughout the day.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194662' first='Stephen' last='Morrison'] | G | @steph3n_m0

Stephen is an intriguing talent as he has good positional size, and his strength is playing on the perimeter. He is a stout player who handles the rock, can initiate the offense, create off the bounce, and score well from three. My sniper of the day. If he put it up, it was most likely going in.

[player_tooltip player_id='2531955' first='Xzavier' last='Payne'] | F | @4_xzav_pay

Payne is a skilled and physical wing who stood out with his size and feel for the game. He finishes well around the rim, shows good touch, and makes smart decisions within the flow of the offense. His passing ability for his size adds another layer to his game, and he looked noticeably bigger and stronger in person, which should help him make an impact this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='2934368' first='Lorenzo' last='Hall'] | SF | @Renzo3xhall

Hall is a versatile wing who can score on the perimeter and finish through contact inside. He brings steady two-way value with his ability to guard multiple positions and play under control, making him a reliable contributor on both ends.
