Legacy Early College Lions traveled up to the Volunteer State and played Hamilton Heights. The Lions came away with the victory 51-47 in Chattanooga. Sharone Wright Jr led the Lions with 14 points. CJ Jamison added 12 points, Maliek Wilcox 11 points and Chase Claxton 7 points. The Lions move to 19-5 on the season.
Dontrell Shuler didn’t play for the Lions as he’s still out with a injury.
The Lions play at home today vs Covenant Christian Academy (Marietta, GA).
York Prep traveled down to Gainesville, FL to play in the Gatortown Hoops Classic. The Patriots fell in overtime to the host The Rock School 76-69. Deuce Dean led the way with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Dericko Williams came off the bench and recorded a double-double 15 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman Jacobi Wright scored 12 points along with Longwood signee Jaron Williams.
The Patriots return to action today to play DME Academy (Daytona, FL).
Heritage Academy traveled up to the Midwest to play at the Quincy (IL) Shootout. The Hammerheads won there opening game 73-63 over Horizon Academy (Fort Wayne, IN). Dameisho Borden led the Hammerheads with 24 points while Jakobe Dill chipped in with 16 points while converting 4 three pointers. South Dakota signee Ben Fakira added 9 points in the win.
The Hammerheads will play Sunrise Christian (Bel Aire, KS) this evening in the Quincy Shootout.
Comenius School defeated Word of God (Raleigh, NC) 68-66 last night. The Knights were led in scoring by Brandon Burford (2018) with 24 points. Nilous Hodge (2018) added 13 points while Dillon Harrison (2019) chipped in with 12 points in the road win.
