Trevor Huffman and Wills Lee of Huffman Basketball are teeing up a solid showcase to show off some Northern Michigan talent this Tuesday. Some of the best from Up North will be in attendance and on display. Wills'll be putting them through the combine, and plenty of next-level coaching staff will be in attendance to see it all play out. Prep Hoops will be there to cover as well!

Let's review some ballers to watch:

[player_tooltip player_id='2110784' first='Mason' last='Gugle'] (Feature Image) - 2026 Pine River

Highly talented prospect who will likely be one of the ones to watch tomorrow. Very successful campaign on the circuit with Midwest Stampede this spring, and a Rankings Risers just the same. My partner, Scott Hankamp, says he's one of the best passers he's seen in quite some time. He has a cabinet full of hardware and accolades in a talent-rich region of the state. It will be my first time watching in person, and I look forward to reporting back on this one.

[player_tooltip player_id='2539732' first='Hudson' last='Mclean'] - 2028 Traverse City Central

Top 5 on the list of Who to Watch as well. A 2028 who has been on fire in the spring/summer circuit with HB Elite's U16 squad. Most notably, this past weekend, he put up monster numbers, averaging 34.5 PPG and 10+ rebounds over 4 games in Chicago at the NY2LA Final Chapter. Will play a major role in Luke Johnson's fast-paced TC Central offense. This TC Team is loaded with talent and shooters. With Marquette graduating a load of talent, TC Central has a nice-looking shot at District #1 next spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='2276657' first='Clayton' last='Heuker'] - 2027 McBain

Another top 5 on this watch list who is garnering much earned recognition. As Gilbert says, something in the water in McBain, as tall kids literally grow on trees down there. I watched Clayton throughout his freshman high school campaign on McBain's march to the Breslin, so I am looking forward to his progression since then. He had a successful grassroots season on the GR Storm squad and will be The Rambler's main stretch-4 this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2402509' first='Lyle' last='Price'] - 2029 Crystal Falls

Crystal Fall-Forest Park will be a strong force in the UP for a long time. They are putting the pieces in place to put together a Hermansville-style dynasty. A lot of gym time in the offseason, mixed in with two of the top coaches in the UP, sets the table for multiple Breslin trips that are surely in store for this bunch. It's a risk highlighting a player who hasn't stepped foot in a high school game, but this kid rolls against competitive high school players daily. His intestinal fortitude will be on display as he goes up against some of the best in the business in Northern Michigan. He had a late-season stint on the Zero Stars U16 squad (and did very well), so this is nothing new to him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2270808' first='Jacob' last='Plamondon'] - 2026 Glen Lake

Recruiting prowess is on a high with Jacob. After NMU's elite camp, Coach Matt Majkrzak easily extended an offer to this 6'6" rising star. I expect to see a few more GLIAC offers headed his way as he has had an excellent spring season with the Indiana Game. He also put on a pretty solid display at BCAM back in June. Glen Lake will be a tough team this season, with Jacob, Hazelton 3.0, Lamerson, and Bradford all returning.

******UPDATE - Shortly after press, we learned Jacob might be up against an injury setback. Shouldn't be a large setback and we wish him the best in his recovery.
