The 2nd annual Best of the Best Tournament takes place at Reynolds High School this weekend, May 31 and June 1, as many of the state's top seniors will don the uniforms of their respective conferences and battle for league pride. All seven 6A conferences will be represented and a 5A all-star team will round out the field in what should be a very competitive two days of games.

In the fourth contest that will take place at 1:45pm on Saturday, May 31, the Central Valley takes on the Metro League. Here's a look at that matchup.

In their first appearance at the Best of the Best, North Salem head coach Hemingway Huynh will lead a squad ready to earn some respect. Leading the way for the CVC will be the senior standout trio from Sprague - all of whom have already committed to playing at the college level in [player_tooltip player_id='1531536' first='Jarod' last='Stanley'] (Western Oregon), [player_tooltip player_id='1368253' first='Anthony' last='Best'] (Linn-Benton), and [player_tooltip player_id='2722533' first='Braxton' last='Long'] (Linn-Benton). McNary's [player_tooltip player_id='1686592' first='Steven' last='Adams'] (Lane CC), will man the point along with North Salem's [player_tooltip player_id='1910902' first='Droiy' last='Comstock'] (Hope International) and sniping away from the outside will be the likes of North Salem's [player_tooltip player_id='1910911' first='Maverick' last='Huynh'] and Kep Barram. Scorers such as North Salem's [player_tooltip player_id='2575675' first='Jesse' last='Bechtel'] (Chemeketa), West Salem's [player_tooltip player_id='2722615' first='Tyler' last='Hawkins'], and South Salem's Elliot Carmichael should provide additional perimeter threats, while the West Salem duo of Tyler Sommer and Hudson Whipple will add size underneath as the Central Valley looks to pull off some upsets.

The Metro League made it to the finals in the inaugural Best of the Best - can they take it all this year? It will be a challenge for Aloha head coach Dan Ellis to get it done but the team has the potential with some very experienced players. Having the co-Players of the Year in [player_tooltip player_id='1379047' first='Keenan' last='Reckamp'] of Southridge (headed to Bushnell) and [player_tooltip player_id='1368243' first='Jason' last='Grady'] of Westview (headed to prep school at Winchendon) is a good start, along with four more teammates from the Wildcats squad that made it to the state tournament in OIT signee [player_tooltip player_id='1910894' first='James' last='Kefgen'], Linn-Benton commit [player_tooltip player_id='1370665' first='Kai' last='Russell'], [player_tooltip player_id='2051003' first='Lucas' last='D'Haem'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1624507' first='Jacob' last='Epstein']. Mountainside's [player_tooltip player_id='1368229' first='Peyton' last='Reyes'] (headed to Linfield) will add plenty of motor on both ends, Sunset's [player_tooltip player_id='1910912' first='Matthew' last='Lohman'] (going to Pacific for football) and Beaverton's Trenell Washington add more perimeter depth. A real wildcard for the Metro League is the late addition of Utah State signee Brayden Boe, who spent the year playing at Dream City Christian in Arizona, but transferred back to Mountainside this spring to make him eligible to join the roster.

https://www.instagram.com/p/DI1nUH3Th9m/

https://www.instagram.com/p/DJayuOYuhq9/
