Jersey Jam Fest: SEPA Prospects Who Impressed…Part III

His combination of length, speed, handles and finishing skills made him unstoppable on the fast break. Newson's ability to grab a defensive rebound in traffic, get downhill and then push the rock for scores and assist in unique. Those assets combined with his quick first step enabled Newson to get to the cup at will on half-court possessions too. Plus, Newson displayed a solid three-point stroke. He is athletic and agile power forward with underrated rim-to-rim speed. Plus, Pereira is a big who “busts it” down the court the moment he has released an outlet pass. The combination of these assets enabled Pereira to score via the secondary break frequently. Pereira also produce points on the interior using drop steps and flip hooks as well as via the offensive glass. His versatility was on display too as Pereira operated in the high post, the dunker spots and along the baseline. His ability to dictate tempo was extraordinary. His elusive handles and court vision produced creative assists. Thompson got into the lane for kicks outs and drop passes too. He also scored off the dribble via lay-ins and runners. Thus, it should not be a surprise that he turned heads at the Jersey Jam Fest. This past weekend, Young displayed an extremely versatile skill set. Young handled the rock like a guard and got to the rim off the bounce for lay-ins. Plus, he also crashed the offensive glass repeatedly for put backs and popped mid-range jumpers like a small forward. His speed, athleticism and hops enabled Young to produce points on the fast break. Young sprinkled in a few made threes too.      </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
