Recruiting Report: Moses Issa (2018)
By now you’ve heard the story, the Austin Packers are one of the state’s elite teams despite who they lost. Moses Issa is a key reason for the Packers continued success.
“This season is going well for me personally and my team, we’re undefeated and playing at a high level,” Moses told Prep Hoops.
The Packers are 9-0 so far and Moses is scoring a dozen points a game using his explosive physical ability as well as his improved touch. Issa has also become a more mature player.
“Being more of a leader on/off the court is something I have focused on, valuing every possession, and being in attack mode,” Issa said.
The Packers are 9-0 and coming off wins over Forest Lake and Lakeville North. Next up is big league games with Northfield, Mankato East, Rochester JM, and Owatonna.
“We have a core group of seniors with chemistry and a lot of skilled young guys who help us out,” Moses said. “Individually, I want to be more of a scorer and we expect a deep state tourney run.”
The Packers are one a few teams that people expect to challenge the winner of Orono and DeLaSalle for the title. Teams like Columbia Heights, Mankato East, Marshall, and of course the Packers.
Another thing Moses is looking into is playing at the college level. Moses has made great improvements and his physical abilities are rare.
“I got my first offer from Lake Region St last week and I’ve heard from NDSCS, Kirkwood, Saint Mary’s University, and Mesa CC (AZ). No visits planned yet.”
