with his dynamic athleticism being one of the major calling cards he possesses as a prospect. Scott had an all conference freshman season at New Bern High School under Coach Campbell and has a chance to be a prospect people beyond the state of North Carolina are talking about for years to come. Scott possesses an incredibly foundation with his skillset as someone that can make shots from all over the floor, finish in traffic with either hand, and show flashes as a playmaker for others in the process. Scott appears to play the game the way it’s supposed to be played while mixing in his athletic gifts for momentum shifting moments at both ends of the floor. We’re not 100% sure who Scott will be playing with this spring or summer but regardless of what jersey he has on, Scott can make plays that cause the gym to erupt in an instant on top of the fact that we’re seeing him become a complete prospect. One to watch closely nationally as well.

This kid is a wrecking machine out in Eastern North Carolina and it’s only a matter of time before people around the state and country become super familiar with AJ Scott. Scott has helped lead the charge for a New Bern team with a 15-3 record and a 4-2 mark in conference. Scott has found a way to flourish and produce while still gelling with other talented players, an incredible trait early on for a young kid with this much raw ability. As a freshman, Scott is averaging 15.9 Points, 4.6 Rebounds, 1.1 Assists, 1.4 Steals, and 1.9 Blocks per game. He’s also shooting 46% from the floor as a freshman. Scott’s athleticism, poise, and motor are his calling cards early on in his career. The kid plays hard, super aware of whats going on around him, and is a well rounded + supremely gifted athlete. As Scott continues to develop his outside touch, grow into his frame, and get more high level experience, there is little doubt that he’s going to get recruited at the national level. He’s checking all of the boxes up to this point and from all accounts is really focused on becoming the best player he can be.

After a slow first half where he only scored one basket for two points, Scott took over in the second finishing with 16 points in the second half and overtime. As a freshman, he combines a unique blend of athleticism, shot making, and freakishly long limbs that make him one of the more intriguing prospects in the 2029 class.

After putting together a very impressive middle school campaign, he has hit the ground running as one of the top performers for New Bern High School. He has the height, wingspan and athletic ability that you love to see from a wing prospect and can score the ball from multiple levels with a nice amount of efficiency.

Showed some flashes of how good he could be in their matchup with Topsail HS. Although he is still a young talent, he already has the eyes of college coaches on him and rightfully so. He has the ability to make a high number of plays from the wing and already has impressive athletic ability.

Scott showed flashes of a player that has been in high school for a few years. Not many players going into high school play with the poise and feel that he does going into his freshman season. He’s an elite level athlete with the handle to run the one from time to time if needed and an improving jump shot that he can get off the dribble or the catch. He threw down two of the better dunks I saw during the weekend and is a prospect to track at New Bern High School.

It’s very rare that you see a youngster that has yet to play a varsity game and already holds a D1 scholarship offers but that is exactly the case for this young man it and doesn’t take long to see why. He has the height and wingspan of a college level SG already with an IQ for the game that is beyond his years. He does not allow himself to get sped up, can score the ball from outside with efficiency and has the potential to be a nationally ranked level player as he continues to progress.
