One of the most productive freshman in Ohio, Brooks has had a strong start to his high school career. I've seen his confidence as a shooter grow with some tough 3-pointers running off screens on Saturday. Transition is currently where Brooks shines as he's able to finish at the rim or make the right read to a teammate to put them in a position to score. Brooks can also turn defense into offense by quickly turning a steal into a breakaway opportunity. I'm really encouraged by the current production and motor Brooks has shown me. The next time I watch him I want to see him be confident with his left hand attacking off the dribble and finishing at the rim. Long time for him to grow into the skills he isn't as polished with at the moment.

A prospect who goes hard every time he steps on the court, Roane is a physical force who uses his strength and relentless attacking at the rim to score in the paint. A strong undersized forward, Roane is tough to stop in the paint with his craftiness at the rim. Just two points short of 1,000 for his career, look for Roane to reach that milestone during their next home game. Another skill where Roane stood out was his ability to block shots. With a high vertical and impressive timing, Roane blocked an insane amount of shots for a player of his height. Not the most talented player you'll come across but Roane impacts winning at a high level on the high school basketball court.

Chesapeake is unbeaten and Kazee is the engine that drives their offense. A skilled guard who can really make plays off the dribble, Kazee can attack off the dribble in a variety of ways. Whether it's isolation, pick and roll or transition opportunities, Kazee is able to create for himself or his teammates. A sweet set shot as well, Chesapeake has enough ball handling with their other guards to allow Kazee to play off the ball and knock down spot-up 3-pointers. If Kazee can improve his burst to make it easier to blow past defenders, he'll find it even easier to score the basketball next season. With so many of their top options being in the class of 2026 and 2027, it's safe to assume Chesapeake will have even higher expectations next season!

Playing without their senior leader at point guard, I got to see some new names for Dublin Coffman do some more things on the ball and take more shots. It was nice to see Schmidt step up to the challenge with a handful of impressive passes to set his teammates up. Transition was where Schmidt was threading the needle for numerous assists throughout the game. Also knocking down a couple 3-pointers, Schmidt can make the defense pay for leaving him open from downtown. It'll be interesting to see where Dublin Coffman takes a leap this offseason because Saturday was a glimpse at the future of the program.

A young Westland squad played scrappy all game and has some talent coming through the pipeline. I was most impressed with the flashes Andrews showed me as a rebounder and defender. Andrews crashed the glass hard on both ends and has a good frame for a freshman. A name to know for the future in central Ohio's 2028 class.
