-Top performer from the weekend was the most assertive that I've seen him play in an exciting matchup with the host Raiders. Lewis got himself going by burying a corner 3 off of the baseline screen then followed it up with a steal and coast-to-coast lay at the other end. Lewis looks more comfortable on the ball even from the last time I saw him at the Cadet classic, distributing at a high level in the halfcourt to the tune of 8 assists. The 5 steals were crucial in getting his squad going in transition, where they stretched out a lead to close out the game in the 4Q.

-The senior floor general showed the full range of scoring skills throughout the game that make him such a difficult cover. Wills uses a low center of gravity to turn the corner and get paint touches or get into pull-up jumpers from the elbow. Whether he is driving to the top of the key from the wings or is navigating around a ballscreen, he makes quick, decisive moves with the basketball and is great at creating airspace for his jumper. His range extends beyond the 3 point line and he reads the helper well to attack off the edge or reject a screen to drill a 3 behind it with ease. The most automatic shot in his arsenal might be the floater though, which he can hit with either hand out to 8 feet. Really intriguing scoring guard to track this season as the vocal leader for a solid St. Albans group

37p 11r 3a 1b (7/12 3P) vs Annapolis Area Christian -Polk proved why he's an SEC commit as his signature shooting skill was on display from all 3 levels of the floor in a tight matchup with AACS. Polk got it going early, shooting confidently beyond the arc with even the slightest hint of airspace but showing that he can score inside the 3 point line as well. Polk utilized pump fakes and pivots well to get the defense off balance before hitting touch shots high off the glass on the way to the rim. An improved back to the basket/fade-away game made him difficult to guard as he can turn over either shoulder to score off reverse pivots, spins, or turn-arounds. The microskills of relocating well to space and a quicker release will be crucial in creating space at the next level. Top offensive performance I've seen so far in this young season.

-Busse got it going early from beyond the arc and never cooled off, shooting 63% from 3 in a big Cavaliers win. I liked the patience from him early, ducking underneath hard closeouts after he made his first three triples to hit a 1-dribble pull-up on one play and slicing to the rim to lay the ball up a few possessions later in the 2Q. The junior guard also hit the glass heavy at both ends of the floor, grabbing a long rebound with one hand before turning to rifle it to a teammate to secure a stop on a crucial possession down the stretch. After growing 3 inches this offseason, putting on some weight, and improving his handle-- Busse is making a case for himself as a Division 1 basketball player.

-Liked the resiliency and bounce-back that we saw from Whitaker, overcoming some early turnover issues in the game by stepping in to hit some big shots for the Raiders from beyond the arc. Whitaker hit two early 3s off of swing passes and good movement off the ball but didn't settle for the jumper, utilizing a good pump fake to get his defender off his feet before driving to the rim. Liked the consistent release and balance on movement threes from the junior G, was huge in cutting the Cardozo lead down to single digits late in the 4Q.

-Came away impressed with the pace from Stanford off the bounce, using his quickness to make rapid changes of direction and dribble tempo to get to his spots in the halfcourt. I liked the decisions he made in tight spaces, breaking through gaps before they are closed by help defenders and weaving through the defense to score. Stanford showed a pretty good feel for utilizing pump fakes or pivots on dribble pickups to throw the defense off balance before executing on his reads. Stanford knocked down a floater with the lefty off glass, hit midrange pull-ups, and knocked down a pair of triples in the 1H to cut the halftime lead to 5. Intriguing scoring guard prospect to keep tabs on in 2027
