Goines is coming off a breakout grassroots season with the Midwest Stampede and he continued that run in the first game of the season. He came out firing, scoring 17 first half points. Goines moved without the ball, found open space along the 3 point line and showed himself pass ready to his teammates. He also had a nice lefty drive that ended with an and 1. Goines was engaged defensively, hustling back on D and negating transition opportunities for Clarenceville.

Kronberg came up big for the Hornets in the win, especially late. He finished the game with 9 points, shooting 6-6 from the line, most of those coming in key moments down the stretch. His other bucket was a pull up triple off the bounce. Kronberg got it done defensively as well, picking up a couple key steals.

Webster was really solid against Clarenceville. He was unselfish with the ball, knowing it would come back to him if he worked hard off of it. He showed offensive diversity, scoring off a floater in the lane, a contested baseline drive and a catch and shoot 3 as examples. Webster was efficient with the ball, making the right plays at the right times.

Sometimes that stat sheet lies. I think this is the case from last night. Sotiropoulos had a huge influence on this game. He finished the night with 7 points, but at least 5 of those came in the last 7:20 of the game, 3 coming off a triple that pulled Saline within a possession. Sotiropoulos is a high IQ player that makes really good decisions with the ball.

Cook was a very influential player in a close Saline loss. He had the look of a fearless shooter. Cook hit at least 3 triples and shot at a good percentage off the catch and shoot when he was set and balanced. Every triple was big in a low scoring game too.

#5 for Clarenceville (roster unavailable) - He was a talented guard that could do things with the ball. He showed a nice hesitation move to his right. He could also drive straight line with blow by speed and had the ability to finish off 1 or 2 feet.
