Garden State basketball is almost here as the calendar is about to turn to November. The 2027 class is primed to make its mark on the hardwood this season, especially in the backcourt. Here are the 2027 Group 3 guards to track.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504912' first='Chace' last='Redler'], 6'0 PG Millburn

Redler had some big games last season for the Millers and will be counted on to have a bigger role in 2024-25. The 6'0 guard has a good release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Redler is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and get into the paint off the bounce. He rarely forces the issue in the halfcourt and slides his feet on the defensive end. Redler is a sharpshooting guard prospect whose ability to knock down shots from distance will help his stock in a big way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2380816' first='De-an' last='Armstrong'], 6'0 PG Payne Tech

Armstrong hit his stride during the state tournament and is looking to carry it over into his sophomore season. The 6'0 guard has a good shooting stroke and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. Armstrong can also get to the rim off the bounce and doesn't mind drawing contact. He can thread passes to his teammates in the halfcourt and can get deflections on the defensive end. Armstrong had three games last season with over 10 points and 5 assists and is looking to eclipse that total in 2024-25.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421373' first='Tommy' last='Calaprese'], SG Cliffside Park

Calaprese is one of the top shooters in the class and should put it on display this season. He has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Calaprese moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He is an underrated defender and sets his feet before he shoots. Calaprese is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should torch the nets from distance this season.

Adourahmane Bah, 5'10 PG Camden Eastside

Bah will have the ball in his hands more this season, which will help his stock in a big way. The 5'10 guard has a good handle, which he uses to blow by his defender and finish at the rim. Bah can also score in the mid-range and rarely forces jumpers in the halfcourt. He can also play off the ball and moves his feet on the defensive end. Bah is a gritty guard prospect whose ability to make plays at both ends of the floor will help his stock in a big way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2384280' first='RJ' last='Blake'], 6'2 CG Northern Highlands

Blake is part of a talented Highlanders team that is looking to make it back to the sectional final. The 6'2 guard knows how to get to his spot on the floor and finishes nicely around the basket. Blake uses his size to see over his defender and sets his feet before he shoots. He works hard on the defensive end and is a solid rebounder. Blake's ability to finish in the paint and defend the ball is something that will help his game throughout the course of the season.
