The most exciting part of rankings for us all is to see a new name added. Who are they? Where are they from? What positions do they play? All questions fans and fellow players ask when the new names pop up and fuel conversation. We were able to see so much basketball and evaluate so many players that we could add a dozen new names to the top 100. Here's the newcomers of the South!

[player_tooltip player_id='2364913' first='Britt' last='Beasley'] has boosted his stock like no other in the past few months. While we had Beasley on our watchlist last season waiting until we could see him in person to closely evaluate, Britt made big steps forward in his recruiting journey. A high level student, Beasley attracts schools and coaches alike that would like him on campus. After finally getting to see him in person it was obvious why he had been NAIA offered and launched him to a top 25 ranking at 21.

[player_tooltip player_id='2241529' first='Coleson' last='Christus'] is another pleasant surprise amongst many in this 2025 class. Christus is ready for a breakout year as he's gonna get his first full year of varsity games in WV's top division on a squad with a deep and talented roster. Christus left no doubt when he got in front of us in Morgantown at the BlueChips event in August. From the first minute that afternoon he made it known he was one of the best players in the gym. You can't fake high level play versus high level players. Coleson fits in at 45 in the top 100 with a legit chance to move up in the next update.

[player_tooltip player_id='2457787' first='Matthew' last='DeGroff'] came on our radar this summer as his name was familiar however playing in the WVCAT it wasn't well known. We were able to track DeGroff through the AAU season, watch some streams and eventually see him in person. A dynamic skill set and do it all attitude, DeGroff really left his mark with us and propelled himself into the top 100 at 59th.

[player_tooltip player_id='2472994' first='Tristan' last='Hornbuckle'] returns to an deep and talented Highlander roster this season and will be depended upon to carry the load at point guard. Coming in to that role can be daunting for some but Hornbuckle is more than ready and with the cast around him, he can put his full display of skills on every night out. Tristan put in the time during the AAU periods this spring and summer and we finally caught up with him in Myrtle Beach Live Big Shots event in July. Hornbuckle has tightened up his game and become a point guard that looks ready for a breakout season. We inserted him on the top 100 at number 84 but have a feeling he'll take a big jump after one of the upcoming updates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2462324' first='Tyler' last='Peros'] is making his first appearance in the rankings after we received some excellent feedback as well as deep dived into Winfield game film Our feeling is Tyler's position considering his size and skill as well as being an excellent student, can quickly jump onto some recruiting short lists during his upcoming senior season. From unranked to 86, Peros could be a high climber in the rankings by the time of our last update in April.

[player_tooltip player_id='2509759' first='Chance' last='Watkins'] can give his head coach a big thanks for helping him gain exposure. We had the pleasure of watching their AAU team in Myrtle Beach Live in July and being able to "discover" a solid post player, which is always a plus. Watkins has a big 6'5" frame, good feet and moves well without the ball. Considering the lack of post players and bigs in high school basketball, we put a little more of a premium on them when found. Watkins checks in at 95 for his rankings debut.

[player_tooltip player_id='2554060' first='Tyler' last='Walls'] is shaping up to be yet another outstanding player from the Scott Skyhawks. Averaging almost 9ppg and putting some good minutes on film, we were able to evaluate and feel good about putting him into the top 100 while anticipating a big senior season. Dropping in at 98 Walls makes his debut.
