10 Best : Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach vs Waccamaw
The regular season is here in the Palmetto State. Prep Hoops SC is starting the season out at the Georgetown Bulldog Shootout. The first game will be SCISA 2-A State Runner-Up the Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach Saints vs the Waccamaw HS Warriors.The Saints won big 73-49 in the opening round of the tourney.

Guyton cruised to making 6 three pointers in the lopsided victory today. Guyton finished the night with 20 points. Guyton has a great touch from 3 point range with soft hands. Great pick and pop guy in the future.
Play of the Game: Davis Guyton (2019) Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach
Guyton was on fire on all night long. Guyton early in the first quarter took a charge on the defensive and connected on back to back three pointers to make the Saints lead 14-6 at the 1:08 mark.
Best Offensive Performance: Mike Green (2019) Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach
Green is just so savvy with the ball in his hands and makes his teammates around him better. Green set the tone with 18 points and several assists tonight.
Best Defensive Performance: Robert Guyton (2018) Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach
Guyton stands just 5’10 but they don’t come any tougher than him on the floor. Guyton took a few charges tonight along with diving all over the floor like a volleyball player.
Best Guy off the Bench: Lawton Fulford (2021) Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach
Fulford saw limited minutes here tonight but seems to be finding his role with this team. Fulford played last season at North Myrtle Beach Christian.
Best Underclassmen: Mike Green (2019) Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach
Green gets all the attention here for the Saints. Green finished the night with moving his career scoring total to 1,224 points.
Best Guy under the Radar: Ty’shaun Richardson (2019) Waccamaw HS
Richardson is very limited on when it comes to perimeter skills and really enjoys attacking the rack. Richardson finished the night with 10 points in the loss for the Warriors.
Best Project: Samuel Woods (2018) Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach
Woods 6’8 started off his career at Waccamaw HS before transferring to CAMB a season ago. Woods a left-handed forward has still just played 2 years of varsity basketball.
Best Small College Player : Connor Heimberger (2018) Waccamaw HS
Heimberger is very small in stature at just 5’10 for the Warriors. The left-handed Heimberger is the leader of the Warriors team. Heimberger finished the night with 17 points in the loss.
Takeaway;
The Saints have a roster of 10 kids with not much size outside of Woods. The Saints will shoot themselves all year long into or out of games with there perimeter play. The Saints will look to return to Sumter next March but it won’t be a easy task.
Waccamaw HS will take some lumps this season with the lack of size in the post. The Warriors will rely on experience in the back court.
