‘s blur-like first step allowed him to turn the corner and get into the paint at will. He handled the ball extremely well under pressure, keeping an incredibly low dribble that defenders simply couldn’t rip. Once in the lane, he took off from distance, giving himself time for midair adjustments or high-arching finishes he converted with soft touch. Boyd was crafty and creative, using up-and-unders, wide finishes, and angle manipulation to score through multiple defenders. Boyd stayed highly engaged across all facets of the game. His ability to read and react made him dangerous defensively, helping with urgency and swiftly swiping and digging for steals that prevented several shots and passes.

One of the best dribblers you’ll find in Texas, not just for his flair, but for his polished ability to create shots from all three levels in just 3 or 4 dribbles. He plays at his own pace and never allows himself to be sped up. An efficient bucket-getter who’s dangerous in one-on-one situations, with the handles to create at will. Very intentional with his dribble, constantly countering his defender with pace, direction changes, and craft before finding his angle to attack. A crafty slasher with an explosive first step and the body control to finish through or around contact midair. Can run the break with poise and IQ, setting teammates up and creating 2-man advantages. His effort is unmatched, if he isn’t boxed out, he’s crashing the glass for rebounds or even a surprising putback dunk. A complete, confident scorer who brings energy, control, and competitiveness to every possession.

His dynamic bucket getting comes behind explosive straight-line speed with a slippery handle, allowing him to knife into gaps before defenses could load up. His first step was elite, giving him blow-by ability against even the quickest perimeter defenders. Once downhill, Boyd had a knack for shielding the ball with his body or cuffs and also using high or low pick-ups to finish through traffic, using extended layups, floaters, and creative angles off the glass.
