Here's the latest news and notes throughout West Virginia's high school basketball recruiting. Things seem to be moving much faster and more brisk for WV recruits than it has the last couple years. With the first 2025 already off the board ([player_tooltip player_id='2114397' first='D'arrae' last='Goodwin']) and several others offered early, at least, early compared to recent years. As we predicted, NAIA, D2 and especially D3 are getting away from transfers and back to program building with high school recruits.

[player_tooltip player_id='2208825' first='Zane' last='Saunders'] announced his first offer, legendary coach Bob Williams of the storied Fork Union Military Academy has offered Saunders a spot on their 2025-2026 roster. Saunders just wrapped up his AAU season with an outstanding showing at the Big Shots All Star Weekend in Rock Hill South Carolina. As many eyes that should've been in Rock Hill, more offers are likely to come.

[player_tooltip player_id='2208858' first='Tyronn' last='Paulin'] continues to haul in the mail from college all over the eastern seaboard and mid atlantic regions, but an offer of great significance came through this week in the form of his first D2 offer from WV Weslyan. The senior forward also has a recent offer from JUCO Vermillion in Minnesota and Lesley University in Cambridge Massachusetts. Paulin has interest from D3 Washington & Jefferson along with some Kentucky based NAIA's that could offer if their rosters call for it.

[player_tooltip player_id='2208839' first='Nate' last='Rodriguez'] finally broke the seal! Just as we predicted in a recent article, Nate has landed his first offer from Franciscan University in Steubenville Ohio. Franciscan coaches were on hand at the BlueChips Summit on August 3rd where Rodriguez drove straight from vacation directly to Morgantown to be in front of those coaches. The mad dash from Myrtle paid off and the offer came through. There are a few other schools seriously considering Rodriguez and would expect to see an offer from at least one of those.

[player_tooltip player_id='2241522' first='Drew' last='Fitzwater'] took his official visit to Regents College campus and met with the coaching staff. Regents was the first school to offer Fitzwater. Drew also has an offer from Randolph College on the table as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2208827' first='Navi' last='Hewitt'] received his first offer coming off an appearance at the Big Shots all star weekend. Hewitt's long awaited first offer came from Albright College in Reading PA. Likely Hewitt's appearance in Rock Hill will produce more than one offer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1573155' first='Braydon' last='Hawthorne'] recently received yet another D1 offer, this one coming from Old Dominion. Hawthorne has several D1 offers including Radford, Wichita St, UMBC, FGCU, Pepperdine, Mount St Mary's. August marks a year that Hawthorne has been at the national prep powerhouse Huntington Prep who's nation team attracts top 100 talent.

[player_tooltip player_id='1309597' first='Xavier' last='Kirk'] received a recent offer from Hood College. Kirk who's been on the radar of coaches at every level according to BlueChips Nation. Look for his offers and interest to skyrocket now that the door is open.

[player_tooltip player_id='1578760' first='Parker' last='Schramm'] received his second official offer from Waynesburg most recently. Waynesburg has been very active in WV and continues to offer some of the top talent. Schramm would be a huge addition if they can sign him.

One late 2024 signee to add to the list, Nicholas County Guard Trey Brogan. Brogan played the entire spring and summer schedule with WV Reign waiting for his opportunity and it finally came with a spot on Glenville State's roster.
