Palmetto State : Legacy Early College
The name has changed but the talent is still at a high level for Head Coach BJ Jackson. Legacy Early College is located in Greenville, SC. The Lions played this weekend in the 3rd Annual Swanny’s Jamboree in Myrtle Beach.
The Lions have plenty of talent this season and are led by Wake Forest bound guard Sharone Wright Jr. Wright Jr. ranked #3 in the 2018 Palmetto State Class played last season at West Florence HS. Wright Jr. who didn’t play any AAU ball this summer looked really good this weekend after adding some weight to his frame. Wright Jr. got to the basket and showed a great quick first step when attacking.
Dontrell Shuler returns for his 2nd season for the Lions. Shuler a guard started off his career at Irmo HS. Shuler holds offers from South Carolina State, Charleston Southern University and Newberry (SC) (NCAA D2) this fall.
Donta King and Charlton “Chase” Claxton will in the paint for the Lions. King and Claxton both belong in the 2019 class. King already a thick kid in the paint already holds offers from Coastal Carolina University and USC Upstate according to Jackson.
Claxton 6’5 wiry slender post player has great timing getting off the floor. Claxton will alter shots on defensive end of the floor.
CJ Jamison is that ultimate role guy who just gets stuff done on the floor. Jamison 2019 is a guy who can come up with a big bucket when needed or come up with just a big play.
Maliek Wilcox (2018) made his way over to Legacy Early College this season from South Pointe HS. Wilcox a point guard played with the can get in the paint and has nice mid-range game.
Raymond Williams (2018) piled up numbers last season at nearby Berea HS. Williams a combo guard was sitting out action this weekend. Williams played AAU with Team South Carolina this summer.
CJ Plantin and Malik Wiles are both in the 2020 class for the Lions. Plantin is a left-handed mismatch guy at times on the floor. Plantin played at nearby Pendleton HS last season. Wiles a 6’3 guard transferred in from Broome HS (Spartanburg) where he averaged 7 ppg as freshman last season.
