Battle in Bullhead 1st Team
The Battle in Bullhead has completed and there were a number of prospects who used the event to get themselves on our radar. The boys competed extremely hard. The following prospects had the best showing out of any of the prospects at the Battle in Bullhead.
Battle in Bullhead MVP
Ajang Aguek 6’7 SF/PF 2018 Ironwood
Aguek was the most active player in the entire event. He was able to make a number of plays on the defensive end as well as on the offensive end. His ability to score the basketball in so many different ways makes him quite an interesting prospect. He had a number of big dunks in transition and in the half court. He showed that he can attack off of the dribble and shoot it from deep. Aguek’s improvements since last season are nothing short of impressive.

Joe Heath 6’3 SF 2018 Mohave
Heath represented his hometown quite well. He played with an edge and clearly wanted to demonstrate that the Mohave boys have some skill as well. His ability to shoot the basketball look improved. His shot looked quicker and more fluid. Further, his athleticism has taken another step forward. His first step looked more explosive and was dunking with ease. Heath looks poised to repeat as the region player of the year and earn himself more and more college attention.
DJ McNeal Agua FriaDJ McNeal 6’0 PG 2018 Agua Fria
McNeal struggled to move early due to the drive up to Bullhead. However, once his legs loosened up, he demonstrated to everyone why I have him as one of the top 3 point guards in all of 5A. While the rims might need to be fixed after some of the dunks in the event, a couple of the nets are going to need to be fixed after his shooting. McNeal shot it off the dribble and in catch and shoot situations with ease. He absolutely lit it up in the Top 20 Game to keep his team in it.
Tyrese Eugene 6’0 PG 2018 Ironwood
Like McNeal, Eugene started a little slow, but he finished with a bang. He is one of the contenders for the MVP of the Top 20 game as he led all scorers and demonstrated a number of explosive moves. He had a great split and a euro step that left the crowd in awe. Further, once he found his shooting touch from mid-range and from deep, he was on another level. His strength is a game changer as he can get anywhere on the court that he wants to.

Keaton Rodgers 6’4 SF/PF 2019 Sandra Day
Rodgers had his first ever dunk in a game. If he did not tell me that I would not have known as it was in traffic and on a number of prospects. He followed that up with a couple more. In addition to showing some explosive athleticism, he showed a much improved ability to play along the perimeter. He is strong and can take defenders off of the dribble with his left and right hand. He finished extremely well and demonstrated good leadership.
Dhol Majak 6’10 PF/C 2018 Ironwood
Majak was phenomenal early on. He plays hard every possession which resulted in exhaustion by the time the Top 20 Game came along. The most impressive part of his game was his ability to take defenders off of the dribble. In the past, he has lived from behind the 3, lobs, and rebounds. He showed that he can create shots for himself and finish around the rim. More importantly, he showed a lot of versatility on the defensive end. He guarded guards on the perimeter and posts while altering a number of shots.
