Good weekend for hoops here in Dallas as we kick off the Grind Final Regionals with some elite matchups we've been waiting for all summer. I'll be spotlighting some players that personally caught my eye with their savy play on day 1.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='2442215' first='Bryson' last='Bond'] is a small guard with all the intangibles to play at the collegiate level. Shifty with the ball, lalways the first one down court and operates the offense well in traffic weather finishing or making the right play. Defensively he's a dawg causing issues in the open court for ball handlers and creating transition opportunities. Look for him to have a big senior year and make several radars.

2025 PG Cason Woolfolk is a tough small guard who plays with lots of heart on both sides of the floor. True PG who can make the right play but can score at will when necessary. Finished at the rim even over bigger defenders using his body to shield. Defensively made several plays in the passing lane and will pick you clean on the perimeter. He'll make some noise for his senior season for sure!

6'3 PG Manny Weaver is a long guard with savy ball handling the really understands the pace and tempo of the game. Super unselfish on the offensive side of the ball dropping dime after dime but had some tough finished at the rim as well. He really gets after it in the defensive side leading to easy transition. He was elite penetrating the defense and got what he wanted instead of what they were trying to give him. Look out for him next year at McKinney Christian he could be a huge stock rise.

6'8 2025 F Markell Sampson was tough to start the day with a pair of crazy dunks. Outside of that, he's a lengthy prospect with a crazy wingspan and blocked everything that came near him defensively. My favorite part of his game is the way he runs in transition at his size making it easy for his guard to find him and pad their assist totals. Markell will make some noise this year in the Louisiana rankings.

2025 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2477615' first='Lebron' last='McKelvy'] solid to start the day with a parade of dimes and tough finishes at the basketball. His confidence seems to be on his sleeve these days and it's perfect timing for the fast pace, gritty type of ball the Oak Cliff Stars play. Shifty with high IQ he always make the right play in transition or in a set offense. Defensively was a pest in the trap, I watched him create 3 back to back turnovers that led to layups. Make sure he's on your radar.
