Prep Spotlight: Grant Singleton (2018)
Singleton 5’11 point guard led the Gators to the school first Region 6-4A title last year. Singleton won Region Player of the Year for his efforts last season. Singleton is ranked #16 in the 2018 Palmetto State Rankings.
How was your season last year at Lakewood HS?
The season was a success in the regular-season with a perfect conference record. We fell short in the post season with an early exit in the second round to Lower Richland.
What is your exceptions for the upcoming season?
I would along with my teammates like to lead Lakewood to the State Championship and repeat as Region 6-4A champions.
What awards did you receive last season?
Singleton was named Region 6-4A Player of the Year and name to Class 4A All-State Team.
How was AAU this past summer?
I played with SC Supreme on the Adidas circuit and also played for Team South Carolina.
What skills do you need to improve on for the next level?
I need to get stronger with the ball and making my shot release quicker.
What colleges have offer you?
Singleton has scholarship offers from Claflin (SC) and Coker College (SC) (NCAA D2). Singleton has received interest from Lincoln Memorial University (TN),USC-Aiken, Columbus State (GA) (NCAA D2)
Singleton will team up with several seniors this season on the Gators roster. Ahkeem Lawson and Terrell Houston look to contribute to the Gators success this season.
