The 2024 Francis Marion University Team Camp was held on Friday, June 14th, and Saturday, June 15th. I was very excited to get out of the Upstate for the weekend and check out some teams and prospects from the Midlands, Pee Dee, and Lowcountry that I otherwise would not have. Check out these five Wings who stood out from the weekend in Florence:
Ralphier Monroe Ralphier Monroe 6'6" | SF Marlboro County | 2025 State SC is a talented Wing who made some exciting plays for Marlboro County this weekend at the Francis Marion Team Camp. It started early with a pull-up three followed by a coast-to-coast transition dunk a couple of possessions later and turned into a 19-Point, 9-Rebound stat line in a win over Heathwood Hall. Ralphier has the ball in his hands often for his team, forced to create scoring chances for himself and his teammates off the dribble. He has a good handle and sees the floor well but is best in attack mode, finishing at the rim or finding space for his floater or mid-range jump shot off the bounce.
Highlights
Morris was solid in both games for the Highlanders Friday. Although the perimeter shots didn’t fall much in either game, he did just about everything else to put his team in a position to win. He had 2 Blocks in each game and 2 Steals in the second game showing how his length can be a factor on the defensive end. Henry has good instincts and recognizes when to rotate on the defensive end. He will also crash the glass and help his big men rebound. That was what was needed from Morris down the stretch of the second game, and he hauled in the game-sealing rebound in the win over Georgetown.
Jarius is one of my favorite prospects in the lower part of the state and he had a great performance in the Bruins first game on Saturday. He made some terrific plays on defense, flashing his abilities on that end of the floor with 2 Blocks and 2 Steals. He has long arms, moves well, and is stronger than he looks, all of which help him make plays around the basket or on the perimeter on the defense end. On the offensive end, Davis didn’t have many opportunities to show his skill outside the paint because he was so successful inside of it. He was able to finish over defenders close to the basket and also got out in transition a fair bit, putting up 16 Points to go with his solid defense performance.
Washington is a two-sport star who has been turning some heads with his performances on the basketball court so far this summer. He has a strong body with good athleticism and plays hard on both ends of the floor. BJ had some success getting to his right hand with a running right right hook. He also cleans the glass well and is versatile on defense with his ability to protect the rim or switch onto perimeter defenders. Of the two games I watched Kingstree this weekend, Washington’s better overall performance came in a matchup with North Myrtle Beach where he went for 11 Points and had some nice moments finishing through contact.

Elijah McClain
Elijah McClain
McClain is a wing that I was not familiar with coming into the weekend, but had a couple of solid performances for the Braves. In particular, I was impressed with his performance in a matchup with Georgetown when he put up 18 Points, 5 Rebounds, and 6 Assists. Elijah displayed his strong overall game in that contest but his passing and ability to finish at the rack stood out. McClain had some nice finishes with both hands and showed that he can finish creatively around defenders or strongly through defenders. His vision and desire to keep teammates involved are nice attributes and things that can allow him to play more on the ball when needed.
