With over 30 new additions to the rankings, here’s a look at part one of the new faces in this group.
#5 Lawrence Brown Lawrence Brown 5'11" | PG Paul VI | 2026 State VA | 5’11” PG | Paul VI
Brown joins a PVI squad that looks to reload from their national championship runner-up season last year, and they get a guard who will run the show and set the table while bringing winning qualities. At St. Andrew’s (MD) last season he was one of the best guards in the DMV, with his quick burst ability to get in the paint, create space to score it and set the tone on both ends of the floor.
#8 Dreylan Creasey | 6’8” SF | Blue Ridge
Creasey is next up in a long line of talented forwards for Blue Ridge, as the 6’8” wing reminds me a lot of former Baron legend and Clemson standout Aamir Simms. At 6’8” he’s a multi-positional player who’s a walking mismatch with his strength and athleticism, his ability to score it inside-out and he still has a lot of room to get better moving forward.
#14 Ruey Ruey Ruey Ruey 6'6" | SF Massanutten | 2026 State VA | 6’6” SF | Massanutten
Ruey played up on Massanutten’s post grad team in the Elite Prep League and was the youngest player in the league, and he started almost every game and was named honorable mention in the league. At 6’6” he’s chock full of potential as he still has room to grow and get more athletic, he scored it efficiently throughout the year from all three levels and he showed good instincts and toughness as a defender.
#15
Justin Edwards
Justin
Edwards
6'5" | SG
Bishop O’Connell | 2026
State
VA
| 6’3” SG | West Potomac
Edwards jumped on the scene this past season emerging as the go-to guy for a talented West Potomac team, and he’s continued that strong play this spring with the Washington Warriors on the 3SSB Circuit. The 6’3” guard is a walking bucket who can work both on and off the ball to get open and make shots from all over, he’s a big time athlete who’s strong and explosive and he just continues to get better every day.
#17 Jamese Jordan Jamese Jordan 6'9" | C Hopewell | 2026 State VA | 6’9” C | Hopewell
Jordan is a prospect to keep an eye on moving forward in the Richmond area, as he is a massive kid for his age and will only continue to get better moving forward. He’s an absolute unit in the paint and is surprisingly nimble and quick for his size, he has good hands and feet to catch and make moves and has soft touch around the rim with both hands.
#21
Gavin Kay

Kay
6'8" | PF
Hampton | 2026
State
VA
| 6’8” PF | Hampton
Kay is a high upside prospect who broke onto the scene helping Hampton win the Class 4 State Championship, and he’s got a lot of tools to work with as he continues to get better. He’s long and mobile as he’s able to get up and down the floor, he’s an explosive finisher around the rim, he has solid ball skills and is only scratching the surface with how good he can be.
#32 Steve Aboky Steve Aboky 6'11" | C S3 Academy | 2026 State VA | 7’0” C | S3 Academy
Aboky is a name not many know at the new S3 Academy, but he could be moving way up this list when it’s all said and done. Standing a legit 7’0” tall with a frame that should fill out, he is an elite rim protector, a good rim runner and finisher above the rim and he’s another guy who’s just scratching the surface with how good he can be.
#35 Gabriel D’Allesandro Gabriel D’Allesandro 6'3" | SG Miller School | 2026 State VA | 6’3” SG | Miller School
D’Allesandro moves to the 2026 class after transferring across town to Miller School and reclassifying, and he could thrive in the Mavericks’ up tempo and trigger happy style of play. He’s a talented shot maker who can knock it down off the catch from deep, get to spots in the midrange and make tough shots and he brings toughness on both ends.
#42
Amare Cooper

Cooper
6'2" | CG
Monacan | 2026
State
VA
| 6’2” CG | Monacan
Cooper had a breakout year for a young Monacan team that will be tough to matchup with moving forward, and he’s emerging as one of the more talented guards in the RVA area. He’s a shifty combo with wiggle to create space, he can make tough shots from multiple levels off the bounce and he’s a very crafty finisher at the rim.
#48
Elijah Brandon
Elijah
Brandon
5'10" | PG
St. Christopher's | 2026
State
VA
| 5’10” PG | St. Chris
Brandon is another emerging guard in RVA who could move up this list with the exit of Brandon Jennings to VCU and he’ll have the ball in his hands more this year. He’s a quick and athletic guard with blow by ability and the ability to hound ball handlers, he has in the gym range off the catch and off the bounce and he can make plays for others too.
