We updated our 2025 rankings a couple weeks ago and got backtracked with covering live period grassroots events and our Prep Hoops Circuit event as well. Now that we have a couple days off before college team camps hit full swing in Ohio, it's time to wrap up our notes on new names and stock risers from the late spring 2025 rankings update we made.

The Youngstown area is full of sleepers and Wilson is a prospect who got on our radar in the grassroots season with [program_tooltip program_id='2078667' first='TNBA' last='']. A bigger lead guard, Wilson wants to get downhill and finish at or above the rim (as seen in his player profile picture). A player who I was unaware of entering the spring, Wilson's taken advantage with some big games in front of a handful of small college coaches that have watched [program_tooltip program_id='2078667' first='TNBA' last=''] either in Pittsburgh or Fort Wayne. As someone who doesn't get to the Youngstown area very often in the winter to watch players with their high school programs, I'm glad to have found a prospect like Wilson in the grassroots season who is worthy of coverage and recruitment.

After getting bench minutes for Centerville as a Junior and scoring 3.8 PPG, Ellis should have a larger role for the Elks this upcoming season. I've been impressed with his spot-up shooting and high energy play with Midwest Basketball Club Cincy Gold this spring. With his shooting, high energy and high IQ play, Ellis should be a valuable high school piece and his high GPA will make him attractive to high academic schools.

Playing for the Division I state champions, Thomas got limited action playing behind some talented seniors on the Wildcats. After seeing him shine for [program_tooltip program_id='2078667' first='TNBA' last='']-Select, it seems like he's going to be ready for a bigger role as a senior. A guard who can defend on the ball with solid athleticism, Thomas plays both football and basketball for the Wildcats. Also with a high GPA, Thomas will be pursued by high academic college programs for his talents. On the grassroots circuit you are able to see more what Thomas can do with the ball in his hands and with Saint Ignatius he plays within a balanced system where he's a complimentary piece that would be similar to what he would play early on at the college level.

A Prep Hoops Circuit name to know, Dustin got on our radar at the Queen City Clash in early April. One of the top players from the Licking County League, Dustin is a lefty wing guard who can pass it, shoot it and knock down floaters when attacking the basket. Another high academic prospect, Dustin should have a strong senior season that will put him on more college radars. Heath had a district title winning team in 2022 thanks to a great senior core and Dustin will hope to lead the program back to those heights as a senior.

Another small town guard, Robinson attended our Top 250 Expo back in the fall which first got him on our radar. He followed that up with a strong season for Zane Trace, a consistent contender in the southeast Ohio area. Able to knock down shots off the catch, Robinson also can play into contact and use his body to create space. Robinson is a name to know in southeast Ohio, catch him with Midwest Pumas Gold who qualified for 3SSB finals in Rock Hill.
