About Mason

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Mix of strategic playmaking and reading the game. Smart passes, solid defense and overall creating a major impact to my teammates and the game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am locked in as I enter the court. I get vocal to communicate with teammates, at the same time, keeping emotions composed during the game.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I currently play for the Twin Cities Elite. I have received an award for making the A-Honor Roll for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. In the past, I have played for Minnesota Heat, Spartans and Wilder Wildcats (St. Paul)

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

It's important to be connected and support my community of St. Paul. I connect with coaches as well as Cretin-Derham's head coach and players, who I practiced with during the summer. I've learned to develop emotional and basketball IQ and staying locked in during the game. As a guard, I've learned to control the plays and work with team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the biggest challenges I've experienced is the skill of managing frustrations during the game. Mental training helped me a lot because I used to allow it to overtake my entire game and lost my focus and abilities, therefore costing the team the game. As I learn basketball IQ along with mental training, I have developed the skill to read the game and adjust accordingly.

What type of college are you looking for?

Public or private colleges. I am interested in Engineering, but I am definitely interested in going to a 4 year college, NCAA D1.
