Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Cody Peck has been in so many big games and now has a chance to win a couple and cement himself as a State Champion at Davidson Day. Peck possesses so much two way versatility as a mobile 6’10’ forward with the ability to make outside shots, run the floor, and finish above the rim at a high level. This Davidson Day team has a ton of size and often find themselves in interesting matchups and Peck is the most versatile of their front-court pieces. This should open up a potential mismatch for him to exploit with that athleticism, inside/out skillset, and defensive impact. Davidson Day has had some really good wins this season and is capable of beating just about anybody they face with the talent they have on their hands. Peck helping get the job done for them in this final four game @ Greensboro Day tonight would be huge for him as he’s closer towards his college decision to give him momentum into that first summer at the next level.

In what was a tough game for Davidson Day, Peck was a real bright spot as he presented himself as a two way producer in many ways vs Ambassador Christian. Peck finished with 11 Points on 4-8 from the floor along with 4 blocks to help anchor the defense. He also finished with a pair of steals to show how impactful he can be defensively. For Peck and Davidson Day, there is a lot of size in the front-court and Peck is often asked to operate more on the perimeter where he can frequently showcase flashes of skill in that area. As Peck continues to fill out his frame, the production will get more and more consistent in these high level games. Despite coming up short, Peck did a lot of good things for his team at both ends of the floor in this one.

Heading back to his native North Carolina for his senior year after a year at IMG Academy (FL), Peck forms a potent three-pronged frontcourt along with Hall and 6’11” Clemson signee Will Stevens. The most perimeter-oriented of the group, Peck was quiet for stretches but still managed to show the wide-ranging versatility at his size that has him coveted by a number of high-major programs. Peck showed comfort putting the ball on the floor in the halfcourt while also spacing to the perimeter as a shooter. He really thrived in transition where he’s dynamic filling lanes and finishing athletically on the move. Defensively, he covers a ton of ground and shined as a secondary rim protector with a pair of emphatic blocks in the paint. We’d still like to see the potential turn into more consistent production, but you just don’t see many players who look and move like Peck falling below the high-major level, where he should have a chance to develop into a valued two-way contributor.

Peck is a unique forward with impressive two-way potential. With quick feet for his height and the ability to protect the rim, Peck can make a difference at the rim or stretched out. Peck also is starting to expand his offensive game and a senior season at Davidson Day could give him more on ball reps. Dayton has made Peck a priority and with three NBA players from the forward position shows me their staff knows what they are looking for in versatile forwards and can get players to the next level. A power forward Dayton prioritizes is usually a player I want to buy stock in.

LSU, Dayton, Creighton, Wake Forest and SMU are the latest programs to offer the 6-foot-10 center-forward out of Carmel Christian School. He’s quickly becoming a hot commodity on the national recruiting scene given his versatility on both ends of the floor as a floor spacing shooter and a pest in the painted area with his shot-blocking ability. As he continues to improve on his aggression around the rim on both ends, look for more HM programs to take interest in his services at the next level.

Peck makes his debut at 9th in the latest rankings update as he’s fielded offers already from the likes of Georgetown, Charlotte, Appalachian State and a few other MM/LM programs at the D1 level. He’s shown he can hold things down defensively as a rim-protector and rebounder and has shown flashes of his offensive potential. He’s a name to get to know in North Carolina’s 2026 class as things heat up for him on the recruiting trail.

Peck has seen his stock rise over the past several months with Garner Road on the 3SSB scene as he moves into the Top 10 in his debut at No. 9. He’s a sizeable defender at 6-foot-9 who knows how to defend the painted area with his ability to block shots and rebound the ball. He holds a number of offers from a few LM/MM programs at the DI level already and as he showcases more of his offense, look for that list of offers to grow very soon!

Peck is quickly making an impact on the 3SSB scene with Garner Road this spring, and is due for a massive entry into our 2026 rankings in just a few weeks. He’s rapidly improving (as all bigs seem to do), with his skill and touch finally catching up to the wiry, long frame he’s always had. Now a real 6’10 with leaping ability and those long arms, he’s able to catch lobs and cause chaos in the paint on defense, with a ton of upside still to go. Some of that upside is visible in his improving touch and defensive awareness, but the sky is the limit for this kid.
