Godson’s physicality and power made him a dominant paint presence, altering interior shot attempts defensively while capitalizing on second-chance putbacks on the offensive end. He controlled the boards whenever he was on the court, rebounding effectively against multiple opponents with a quick first jump and the willingness to battle in traffic. Eyita embraced contact and brought toughness to the interior, consistently creating extra possessions and setting a physical tone around the basket.

Eyita is a physically imposing forward that dominates the boards on both ends, and moves more fluidly to get up the court and run the floor in stride. Eyita crashes the boards relentlessly, has the timing and length to block/alter shots around the basket, with the ability to step out and contest shots on the perimeter, has good hands to receive entry passes, a good drop-step or spin move to get space around the basket, and has nice touch on shots, reverse lay-ups, and putbacks at the rim. Eyita has the court vision to make quality reads from the top of the key, can spread the floor with the 3-ball to open up the court, and when he plays with the level of engagement he did at the Fall Shootout, he is arguably the most unstoppable post player in the Section. He finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds in the win over Clovis North. 

Eyita dominated our Next Up Showcase last year, freshman/sophomore players, and was named the event’s Most Outstanding Player. He left his imprint on this year’s Junior/Senior Showcase as one of the event’s top rebounders and displayed his ability to impose his will on his opponent with a solid build and size, along with the footwork and post-moves to create scoring opportunities from the mid-post to the basket. Eyita had 8 points and 15 rebounds in his first game, as he and fellow teammate Abdoul Bare Abdoul Bare 6'9" | C St. Joseph-Lakewood | 2026 State CA-S battled it out for supremacy in the paint. Godson followed that up with an impressive double-double of 15points and 14 rebounds, and was the second best rebounder at the showcase. Eyita has good back-to-the-basket moves to score in the post, has good feel to spin away from his defender to get open looks at the rim, has enough handle to put the ball on the deck and attack the basket, and can spread the floor with the 3-ball, either popping off the screen or off the catch. Eyita sees the court well to make good reads from the top of the key, has good timing and length to be a quality rim protector, and has the handle to push the ball off the glass and initiate transition play, with the ability to go coast to coast. Big junior season on deck for Eyita, as he will be part of the 3-headed frontline for St. Joseph with two 6-foot-9 players, as well as 6-foot-8 sophomore Williams Sacre, which is a key reason the Knights are the preseason favorites to win the Section title despite Toude Yessoufou being at Baylor now. 

Eyita had a solid Spring on the Nike Circuit with Team Why Not 16u EYBL before heading into the month of June and the scholastic live periods in Arizona and California. The 6-foot-9 power forward has a solid frame and uses his physical presence to dominate post-play for the Knights over the 3-day event in SoCal. Eyita has nice touch on finishes around the basket, dunks with authority on putbacks and lobs, is dominant on the offensive and defensive boards, is a good rim protector, and has the strength to finish through contact around the basket with good efficiency from the free throw line. Eyita has nice touch on his jumper, gets to the elbows where he is most effective shooting the ball, and has enough handle to attack from the top of the key and get down the lane. Eyita will be the anchor for Team Why Not 16s, as it looks to defend its 15u EYBL Title from last year, as well as play a more prominent role for the Knights in the upcoming basketball season.
