This is the 4th version of the Class of 2027 Player Rankings, with the first two rounds of player rankings for this class located at the Nothing But Net Magazine website, and the last round here at Prep Hoops. I have updated this list to include the 2025-2026 high school basketball season and postseason, as well as the Spring portion of the club season. I have expanded this list from 30 to 50 players from around the Central Section. This list of players was compiled using my own evaluations, along with feedback from knowledgeable media, coaches, and other relevant basketball personnel from the Section, to make up the top 50 junior prospects for this updated round of player rankings for the 2027 Class. However, the order of players on this list is my own. This list takes into consideration two key factors in determining where players are ranked, and will be the same criteria used each time this list is updated. The criteria for these rankings are as follows: current skill level and production on the court, as well as future projection at the collegiate level. Below is the first 10 players of these players rankings, broken up into two parts, and will be followed by the next 10 layers, #11-#20. In this article, you will find the following information: current rank, their previous rank in parentheses, the player's name, height, player position, and current school they are attending. I know some of the players on this list will be,or are already at different schools, but I will update that in the next round of these player rankings. We begin this updated list with the sharp shooter and state champ, [player_tooltip player_id='2932601' first='Ty' last='Schalk'].

Moving up three spots and coming in at #6 in this updated list is state champ, [player_tooltip player_id='2932601' first='Ty' last='Schalk']. Schalk was a pivotal piece for the Panthers in their run to win the D2 State Champion, put up great numbers against some of the best competition in the state, with averages of 13 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds per game, shooting 50%+ from beyond the arc, and earning 1st Team All-CMAC League 1 honors. Schalk has been known as a sharp shooter from beyond the arc since his freshman year, but has made major strides in his overall skill set, making him a legit combo guard that can control the flow of the offense, create shots from 3-levels, and has improved as a play maker with the ball in his hands. Schalk has solid handles, the moves to create shots off the dribble, using the crossover, hesitation, behind-cross, and between-cross to get his defender off balance, is accurate with the jumper off the bounce from the mid-range to the 3-point line, and is a crafty scorer around the basket, with the Euro-step, floater, and reverse lay-ups to score among height in the paint. Schalk has solid court vision, makes good reads in tight windows, finding teammates off the drive and kick pass, as well as out of the pick and roll action, and moves fluidly off the ball to get to his shot spots, where he is lethal from the 3-point line with range on the deep ball. Schalk has been playing with OC Pride 17s this Spring and will be called on to be the primary ball handler next season, and this past year has prepared him for this role.

7 (2) [player_tooltip player_id='2436295' first='Godson' last='Eyita'] (6'9 | PF) - St. Joseph (Santa Maria CA)

Coming in at #7 and moving down 5 spots is the big fella from St. Joseph, [player_tooltip player_id='2436295' first='Godson' last='Eyita']. Eyita was part of a trio of big men that helped the Knights win its second consecutive D1 Section title, but he played his best basketball of the year down the stretch of the regular season and in the playoffs. Eyita averaged 7 points and 6 rebounds per game this season, but really stepped those numbers up in the postseason, with two big time showings of 11 points and 10 rebounds against Bakersfield Christian in the D1 Section Semifinals, followed by a 12 points and 9 rebounds in the Knights win over Notre Dame Sherman Oak in the first round of the Open Division state playoffs. Eyita was named 2nd Team All-Mountain League and has been the focal point in the paint for Team Why Not EYBL 17s this Spring. Eyita will have a chance to boost his stock this coming month during the scholastic live periods, as he will be anchoring the paint for the Knights. Eyita has soft hands on shots around the basket, has good back-to-the-basket moves, with the shake to get his defender off of him, and quick moves to spin and score around the basket, and is effective at connecting on the mid-post face-up jumper. Eyita is dominant on the boards, runs the floor well in the open court, alters shots around the basket, and is tough to defend on the pick and roll action.

8 (17) Bryce Hanson (5'10 | PG) - Liberty (Bakersfield CA)

Hanson moves into the top 10, jumping up 9 spots, coming in at #8 in this updated list of player rankings. Hanson is coming off a stellar junior season under the new coaching staff at Liberty, and was the featured player putting up impressive numbers, with averages of 14 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 3 steals per game, as well as earning 1st Team All-South Yosemite River League honors. The dynamic two-sport athlete showed he is one of the top lead guards in the Section, and has kept his high level of play going this Spring with All In Elite 17u National team. Hanson has dynamic handles, keeps the dribble alive to probe the defense, has the moves to shake his defender, using the crossover, the behind-cross, toss-cross, between-cross, hesitation, and the spin-move to create space from his defender, gets great lift on the jumper with body control to score through contact in the air, has a great burst off the bounce, and is a creative scorer around the basket, with the Euro-step, up-and-under, and reverse lay-ups, as well as touch on the floater. Hanson moves well off the ball to get to his shot spots, is accurate with the 3-ball off the catch, has good court vision to find open teammates off the drive and kick pass, or up the court off the glass. Hanson is an elite on-ball defender, leaves his opponent with minimal space to operate, turns defense to transition offense routinely, and is a great positional rebounder with bounce and quick leaping off the ground. Big senior season is coming but lots of hoops left before that this summer.

9 (11) [player_tooltip player_id='2954272' first='Sier' last='Harbin'] (6'3 | CG) - Clovis (CA)

Another player that moves into the top 10 for this updated list of players and coming in at #9 is [player_tooltip player_id='2954272' first='Sier' last='Harbin']. Harbin had a great junior season after transferring to Clovis High, and was a huge reason for the Cougars successes this season, which culminated in a D2 Section title. Harbin stepped up in the team's biggest game of the season, going for 19 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals to lead Clovis in the D2 Section title game, earning him Player of the Game honors. Harbin provided Clovis with a second ball handler to go with standout sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2843567' first='Anthony' last='Smith'], and another play maker to take some pressure off Smith. Harbin has solid handles, keeps the ball on a string to survey the floor, has the moves to create space from his defender, uses the crossover, behind-cross, the hesitation, and the spin-move to get his defender off balance, gets paint touches on the regular, has the body control and creativity to score over height around the basket, with use of the Euro-step, reverse lay-up, and floater down the lane, and has a smooth jumper with accuracy from the mid-range to the 3-point line off the dribble. Harbin is solid on the glass, looks to push the pace of play, has the court vision to find open teammates, and is a solid on-ball defender with length and active hands to poke the ball out of jump passing lanes, as well as alter perimeter shots.

10 (5) [player_tooltip player_id='2194700' first='Jeremias' last='Killebrew'] (6'5 | WG) - Bakersfield Christian (CA)

Rounding out the Top 10 of this updated list is [player_tooltip player_id='2194700' first='Jeremias' last='Killebrew'], moving down 5 spots. Killebrew had a hot start to the season for the Eagles, but suffered an injury during the Damien that hindered his availability throughout SYVL play. Killebrew got healthy down the stretch of the season and was key for BCHS in the postseason, helping win the D2 State SoCal Regional Title. Killebrew was the team's second leading scorer with 11 points per game, to go along with 5.5 rebounds and 2 assists, and was named to the 1st Team All-South Yosemite Valley League team. Killebrew is a versatile two-way player that has the handles and moves to create his own shots off the bounce, is deadly when hunting the mid-range jumper, with the ability to connect on the stop-and-pop middy, as well as the fadeaway and spin-fade jumper with good body control and great lift to shoot over most perimeter defenders. Killebrew is a creative scorer around the basket, using the Euro-step, reverse, and up-and-under lay-ups, is active on the boards to get second chance points on put-backs, and can defend bigger players in the post, as well as smaller players on the perimeter. Killebrew will be a core piece for the Eagles who return all of its core players from last season and will be one of the preseason favorites to win the D1 Section title.
