Transfer Watch 2024: Part III

With the NCAA transfer portal jamming up high school recruiting, we expect there will be a host of extremely talented players who switch schools this spring / summer. Many of them will reclass into a later graduate year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At Prephoops.com we will do our best to track all the player movements and pass that information on to our readers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Below is the third installment in our Transfer Watch 2024 series.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2397565' first='Daniel' last='Gilhool'] </strong><strong>– 6'9″ / 2027 / Penn Charter / [program_tooltip program_id='2078709' first='Team' last='Final'] EYBL / Power Forward: </strong>This former Elizabethtown standout averaged 6 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks per game as a freshman. Gilhool is a lefty stretch-4 prospect who splashed threes at a 41% clip last season. When he is not raining triples, Gilhool can operate in pick-n-roll action and score in the low post over either shoulder. Gilhool is also a plus rebounder. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1202209' first='Jalen' last='Harper'] </strong><strong>– 6'4” / 2025 / Newman School (MA) / Shore Shots Rio UAA / Wing:</strong> In 2023-24 Harper averaged 11.4 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game while shooting 37% from behind the arc for St. Joe's Prep. That stat line earned Harper a 2nd Team All-PCL nod after this past season. Harper recently announced that in 2024-25 he will attend Newman School in Boston for a post graduate year. Newman is getting a fantastic athlete with an extremely versatile basketball skill set. Harper just picked up an offer from UPenn. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1130841' first='Kyree' last='Latimer'] </strong><strong>– 6'3″ / 2025 / Lawrenceville School (NJ) / Pharos Elite / Point Guard</strong>: As a senior at Constitution, Latimer averaged 20 ppg. and was named to the 1^st Team All-PPL squad. Then during Constitution's run to the 2A state semifinals, Latimer averaged 24.5 points per contest. He poured in 33 points in their 2nd Round win over Mahanoy Area. Next, Latimer will head to Lawrenceville School (NJ) for a post graduate year. Latimer can blow past defenders off the dribble to score or distribute. He owns a feathery jump shot too. Latimer will be a tremendous addition to the Big Red program.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2427956' first='Cole' last='Trn'] </strong><strong>– 6'1″ / 2027 / Hill School / [program_tooltip program_id='2428018' first='Sideline' last='Cancer'] / Combo Guard</strong>: After averaging 13 points and 3.5 assists per game as a freshman for Shippensburg high school, Trn transferred to St. Maria Goretti in Maryland. In 2023-24 he averaged 10 ppg. while playing in the highly competitive Baltimore Catholic League. A few months ago, it was announced that after this school year St. Maria will be closing its doors for good. So, Trn is now coming back to Pennsylvania where he will attend Hill and reclass into 2027 graduate year. Trn is an accurate 3-point shooter and savvy point guard.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
