The teams in the spacious Champion Center all set out to attain bragging rights for the year. Each game had highlight worthy plays, and players looking to prove their team was worthy of a Championship Title. Although there can only be one champion, there was no shortage of intensity throughout the entire weekend in each division. Below, I highlighted the “Day 3 Standouts” that I was able to watch at the “Madness in the Midwest”.
Youssoupha Thiam Youssoupha Thiam 6'5" | SF Riverside University | 2025 WI | ABC Young Lions
Thiam was a solid anchor in the paint on both ends of the floor for ABC Young Lions . He was very mobile when covering to ground and light on his feet laterally. He showed great discipline when walling-up and contesting shots using verticality.
Ben Prochnow Ben Prochnow 5'8" | PG Reedsville | 2026 WI | Manitowac United
Prochnow proved to be a floor leader throughout the weekend for Manitowoc United. He was extremely proactive on and off the ball, his range and ability to make reads on the screen and roll was a catalyst for his team. He showed he was capable of scoring possession after possession when his team needed it.
Ramie Shelton | Aqua Elite
Shelton brought a steady source of playmaking for Aqua Elite. He was very sharp when making decisions, he capitalized on advantageous situations at a high level. He proved to be very selfless and found teammates on skip passes and sliding to the dunker spot.
Daijohn Hughes Daijohn Hughes 6'3" | SG Audubon Tech | 2026 WI | ABC Young Lions
Hughes did a little bit of everything for ABC Young Lions . He stood out as a complete athlete that could guard anyone on the floor. His instincts in the open floor were great, finding teammates ahead as well as filling the lanes correctly.
Donovan Cowley Donovan Cowley 6'1" | CG Manitowoc Roncalli | 2026 WI | Manitowoc United
Cowley was a three level scorer for Manitowoc United. He proved to be surgical in the pick and roll, making high level decisions with the ball in his hands. What stood out the most to me was his pace and rhythm that prevented any one from speeding him up.
