About Jackson
Expert Analysis
Mark Miller | Prep Hoops Scout
A smart player who can play either guard position, Tangley was highly impressive for CV Select in its win over Wisconsin Blaze Inferno. Tangley handled the ball well, passed it well and shot it well in his squad’s 53-47 win. Tangley finished with nine points and some big baskets late, but perhaps even more impressive was his poise and feel for the game. He simply knows when to push the gas pedal and when to slow down and work for a great shot. A hoops player with very good instincts, Tangley has a bright future in the game as he continues to get stronger and add weight to his long frame.

Tangley is a elusive lead guard with lots of stop-and-go dribble moves to shed his defenders. He handles the ball very well, can make step-back shots in the lane and has range that extends beyond the arc. He will need to add weight and strength to his frame over the next couple of seasons, but he has a lot of impressive skills and a very good feel for the game.

Tangley and the Wisconsin Playmakers closed out the tournament with a strong performance Sunday afternoon against Minnesota Heat 2027 GVR. Knocking down multiple long range three pointers with ease. Tangley also showed an ability to pass the ball and run plays for the Playmakers allowing the offense to get set and run efficiently. A solid distributer Tangley knows how to move the ball around but can also take the shot when necessary.

Don’t let his size fool you, Jackson brought some big game to the floor for Wisconsin Playmakers . He’s a sharpshooter from beyond the arc, and on Friday night showed he can put points on the board in a hurry as he knocked down three 3’s within a couple of minutes to get his team going. Defenders constantly have to be aware of Jackson as he does a great job of passing and moving, and if you lose track of him for just a second he’ll make you pay with his quick release. Does a nice job of utilizing shot fakes to get defenders in the air as he quickly becomes recognized as an outside shooting threat.

Jackson had a moment in the first half where he caught fire from three, coming down and draining three straight shots from beyond the arc to give his team an offensive spark. Quick release on his shot with range extending a few feet out beyond the high school line. Thought he did a nice job of utilizing a shot fake to get defenders in the air, and get into the paint to look to create for his teammates. Defensively he was putting himself in the right spots off the ball, and although the calls didn’t go his way this game, there were a couple plays where he drew contact that would likely be called a charge in most games.
