He moves fluidly in the open floor, pushing it when the ball is in his hands, and takes good angles slashing to the hoop. Overall has a good feel and court awareness in the transition game and can make a nice pass to a teammate for an assist. Solid shooter that shows some range which stretches out to three. Moves well laterally defensively. One to track down the road especially if he grows.
We caught up with him at the Phenom 150 Combine where he performed well.
“It is fun. There is a lot of learning. I am getting better. It is exciting.”
Johnson is versatile and just wants to help out wherever he can.
“I try to play whatever role they need me to be. I just want to win.”
He played with the Illinois Bears 16U this past spring and summer.
“It went pretty well. We started off 6-0. Overall we had a winning record. It was pretty fun.”
