Palmetto State : Region 7-AAAA Wilson HS Tigers
Region 7-AAAA located on the Grand Strand and in the Pee Dee won’t have its shortage of talent this season.The Wilson HS Tigers will look to build on last seasons success with the addition of a few new players to the roster. The igers finished last season at 22-1 under Head Coach Derrick McQueen.
Alex Caldwell (2018) (pictured on front)
Caldwell is the best player in Region 7-AAAA and he’s the leader of the Tigers offense. Caldwell a point guard played this summer with the Upward Stars Southeast 2018 team. Caldwell has received strong recruiting interest from Austin Peay, East Carolina University, College of Charleston, Southeast Missouri State and Houston this summer and fall.
Caldwell averaged 14 ppg and 7 assists last season for the Tigers. Caldwell played his first season with the Tigers last year after starting off at Richland Northeast HS (Columbia).
Jamonty Williams (2018)
Williams just seems to be getting better every time he hits the floor. Williams 6’7 is a very versatile forward with great length and reactions. Williams recently picked up a offer from Johnson C. Smith (NC) (NCAA D2). Williams will be a bigger factor this season for the Tigers with the graduation of Jaylen Quick.
Williams recently played in the Prep Hoops 250 Expo in Myrtle Beach.
Ryan Carfley (2018)
Carfley arrives from nearby Marion HS. Carfley 6’8 averaged 8 ppg and 6.5 rebounds last season for the Swamp Foxes. Carfley played his sophomore season at Creek Bridge HS in Marion County. Carfley played AAU this summer with Garner Road on the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit. Carfley recently picked up a scholarship offer from Coker College (SC) (NCAA D2).
Darius Rhodes (2018)
Rhodes transferred in from Hartsville HS for his senior season. Rhodes a guard was a fixture on the Red Foxes roster since his freshman season. Rhodes will be a good role player on this talented Tigers squad this season.
Allen Williamson (2019)
Williamson a left-handed wing player has a bit of a old-school game to him. Williamson has a strong frame to him and can knockdown the 3 ball. Williamson played AAU with the Carolina Wolves and Karolina Khaos this summer.
The Tigers will play in the Farm Bureau Tourney at Dorman HS over the Christmas Holiday this season.
Look for the Tigers to make a run this coming season in Class 4-A
