Palmetto State : Region 1-AA Players to Watch
Prep Hoops takes look at Region 1-AA in the Upstate. This region has a duo that has scored over 2,500 career points and some solid young players for the future.
Dawson Williamson (2018) Chesnee HS
Williamson 6’0 guard that plays both football and basketball. Williamson averaged 8.5 ppg for the Eagles last year.
Nathaniel Lamb (2018) Chesnee HS
Nathaniel 6’6 forward that has committed to Clemson for baseball. Lamb averaged 17.6 ppg for the Eagles last year. Lamb had a 1.09 earned run average and struck out 86 batters last years for the Eagles on the diamond.
Foster Bridges (2018) Landrum HS
Foster Bridges 6’5 small forward averaged 17.2 ppg and grabbed 7.1 rebounds last season. Bridges was named to All-Region and All-State Team in Class 2A. Bridges has scored 1,255 points for his career for the Cardinals.
Graham Haley (2018) Christ Church (Greenville)
Haley a 6’2 combo guard for the Cavaliers plays both football and basketball. Haley averaged 10.9 ppg last season for the Cavaliers.
Elijah Rodgers (2018) – Blacksburg HS
Rodgers has already committed to Indiana University for football. Rodgers averaged 12 ppg and 9 rebounds last season for the Wildcats. Rodgers will be a defensive back it looks likes in college.
Trey Smith (2019) Landrum HS (pictured on front)
Trey Smith 5’11 left-handed guard can shoot the three and is quick to the basket. Smith has played for the Cardinals since his eighth-grade year. Smith has scored 1,304 career points entering his junior season. Smith averaged 25.9 points last season. Smith played this summer with Upward Stars Upstate.
Turner Ussery (2020) Landrum HS
Ussery 5’11 point guard averaged 10.1 ppg, 5.2 rebounds and dished 4.4 assists last season for the Cardinals.
Rayshon Harrison (2020) Christ Church (Greenville)
Harrison played recently in the Prep Hoops 250 Expo in Myrtle Beach and had a very strong showing. Harrison 6’2 guard has a quick shot release. Harrison averaged 11.2 ppg last year for Cavaliers. Harris played for Team South Carolina during the summer.
John Butler (2021) Christ Church (Greenville)
Butler 6’10 center played with Team United this past summer. Butler will play for his father at Christ Church this coming season. Butler a long and rangy post player runs the floor very well and can alter shots all night long. Butler looks to be the number one ranked player in the Prep Hoops 2021 Class here in the Palmetto State.
Bennett Rogers (2021) Christ Church (Greenville)
Rogers 5’7 point guard saw action as an eighth grader last year for the Cavaliers. Rogers averaged 8.8 ppg last season.
