But in this newly formed AAA league there are perennial legitimate challenges plus one surprise impressive team who would love to crash the party. Northport and Brentwood are no strangers to the county title or even state championships. So they both have the championship pedigree to win this. Commack always makes teams sweat in the counties. William Floyd might be a surprise but if you’ve been watching this season unfold you know this is a well balanced tough hard nosed team that can really play. A legitimate contender for POY in Suffolk. Athletic player. Does it inside or out. Really nice on the ball defender. An athletic shot. blocker. Seemingly comes out of nowhere to block shots. Really good in transition.
Bayshores other candidate for POY.can flat out score the ball. Understands the importance of changing direction and speeds. Hard to keep him in front. Can drain it from beyond the arc but also utilizes his quickness and ball handling to get in the lane and score. Outstanding vision. A playmaker and floor general.
Commack will not beat itself. They play a very clean game. Nick is the leader of this team. Strong bodied guard. Hard to knock off the ball. Can drill the three. Uses his body to defend. Moves his feet well. Offensively he has a strong base and can create contact on the drive and finish through it. Handles the ball really well in the open floor or tight quarters
