With the recent update of the class of 2025 rankings, we will take a look at how the rankings are broke down by position.

Here's a look at part one of the top guards in the class, ranking some of the top point and combo guards in the junior class.

25) [player_tooltip player_id='2242389' first='Will' last='Hopkins'] | 6'1” PG | Hanover (#76 Overall)

Hopkins has quietly been one of the better guards in the Richmond area, putting up big numbers at Hanover and doing so in impressive fashion. He's a skilled guard who can get to his spots off the bounce and changes speeds well, he can make shots from multiple levels and he's a good set up man as well.

24) [player_tooltip player_id='1870443' first='Sol' last='Vita'] | 6'1” PG | South Lakes (#73 Overall)

Vita is the primary ball handler on one of the top teams in the VHSL this year, and his mix of skillset along with his toughness makes him very productive. He's a tone setter on both ends of the floor who guards the ball well, he can touch the paint off the bounce and make plays for others and he can knock down shots from deep as well.

23) Aaron Elliot | 6'0” PG | Lake Taylor (#71 Overall)

Elliot is one of the catalysts for a very talented Lake Taylor team that looks to make a deep run in the state tournament this year, and his play as the PG has been a major reason why. He's a tough nosed guard who gets after it on both ends of the floor, he can score the ball in a variety of ways off the bounce and he makes winning plays across the board.

22) [player_tooltip player_id='1598943' first='Parker' last='Cage'] | 6'1” PG | Hayfield (#69 Overall)

Cage is part of a new look Hayfield team that has been successful despite losing most of their scoring from their back-to-back state championships, and he's one of the players who waited their turn and is thriving now. He's a highly skilled guard who can get to spots off the bounce and make plays, he's a dead eye shooter from deep and he's a good team defender as well.

21) [player_tooltip player_id='1225266' first='Jeremiah' last='Gorham'] | 5'9” PG | Highland School (#68 Overall)

While Gotham may not be the biggest player, he's a dynamic playmaker who is very tough to guard with his athleticism and skillset. He is shifty off the bounce with a good handle and a quick first step, he can knock down difficult shots from all three levels and he makes plays on the defensive end too.

20) [player_tooltip player_id='1494116' first='Kassidy' last='Jackson'] | 5'10” PG | Green Run (#66 Overall)

Jackson has been a staple for Green Run starting since he stepped on campus, and he is one of the best guards in the 757 right now, He's a dynamic playmaker off the guard who can touch the paint and find teammates for easy buckets, he's a good finisher at the rim and makes shots in the midrange and he's a lockdown on ball defender too.

19) [player_tooltip player_id='1494122' first='Sonny' last='Bridges'] | 5'10” PG | St. Chris (#65 Overall)

Bridges has been a contributor from day 1 for St. Chris, and he's had a great year for them in their big season they've had heading into the playoffs. He can play both on and off the ball and can knock down shots from deep, he's a high IQ playmaker and he is an all-out hustle player with a good motor too.

18) [player_tooltip player_id='1767518' first='Kenny' last='Chicas'] | 6'2” PG | Woodgrove (#60 Overall)

Chicas has been one of the top young guards in NOVA for years now, and he continues to get the job done and improve every year. The 6'2” guard is a dual threat who can score it and make plays for others, he's shift off the bounce and can move off the ball where he's a good shooter from deep and he's a crafty finisher and playmaker in the paint too.

17) [player_tooltip player_id='1588502' first='Jordan' last='Hairston'] | 5'11” PG | Miller School (#51 Overall)

Hairston is the main ball handler for a Miller team that is looking like the favorite to win the state championship this year, and he has been a rock for them all season. He's a one man press break that can handle pressure and get them into their sets, he is a fantastic playmaker with great vision and he scores the ball efficiently when he needs to.

16) [player_tooltip player_id='1494112' first='Troy' last='Henderson'] | 5'9” PG | Lancaster (#48 Overall)

Last year's Class 1 Player of the Year is having another great season for Lancaster who is looking like a favorite to win the state championship again this year. He's a highly skilled guard who is shifty off the bounce and gets to his spots effortlessly, he can knock down shots from deep and in the midrange consistently and he has a knack for making plays on both ends of the floor.
