Here were the JV Standouts:
PJ Nowlin Jr PJ Nowlin Jr 6'3" | SF Canyon View | 2027 State AZ Canyon View
A long wing plays the 1-3 for the JV team. He is super versatile to defend multiple positions with his long arms and quick twitch. He is an out of area rebounder and will push the pace up the court. He can hit the catch three and talks on defense.
Christian Molina Christian Molina 5'11" | SG Canyon View | 2026 State AZ Canyon View
A scoring guard has good speed in the open court and can drive and kick it to teammates. He will play inside to rebound, score on put backs and has the euro steps plus a jump shot.
Devin Sanders Devin Sanders 5'9" | PG Canyon View | 2026 State AZ Canyon View
A real point is undersized but fast with a tight handle. He moves the ball to the open player and puts pressure on the opposing guards with his quickness laterally. He can pull-up off the dribble from both levels.
Jarod Hemsley Jarod Hemsley 6'5" | PF Canyon View | 2026 State AZ Canyon View
A good sized power forward runs the floor and can score it in the paint. He uses his size and long arms to rebound. He has good skill near the basket and is a surprisingly very good passer.
Karson Reid Karson Reid 6'0" | CG Williams Field | 2026 State AZ Williams Field
A combo guard had a good showing. He is super confident to score with good footwork inside, spin moves, he takes contact, he has a polished floater and will hit the catch three using a quicker release. Defensively he can rip some pockets and get deflections plus will block shots and rebound.
Preston Fowler Preston Fowler 6'0" | SG Williams Field | 2026 State AZ Williams Field
A scoring guard can score from all levels. He can dribble drive to the basket with a high feel and is a good passer. He can shoot the three off the dribble and catch and is fast in the open court to score in transition.
Here were the Varsity Standouts:
In this contest Canyon View started slowly in the first quarter but actually led 21-12 with Adam Hubbard Adam Hubbard 6'4" | CG Canyon View | 2025 State AZ ‘s strong shooting. Jase Kooima Jase Kooima 6'4" | SG Williams Field | 2024 State AZ kept Williams Field afloat in the 1st half but were down 34-24 at halftime. The Jaguars back court of DeNali McNeal DeNali McNeal 6'3" | CG Canyon View | 2025 State AZ and Quincy Kirk Quincy Kirk 6'2" | PG Canyon View | 2025 State AZ started pouring it on and led 52-38 heading into the 4th and finished it off with a 74-50 victory.
DeNali McNeal DeNali McNeal 6'3" | CG Canyon View | 2025 State AZ Canyon View
A true combo guard who seamlessly plays on or off the ball. He gets downhill with next level body control and will handle the contact. His first step is very hard to stay in front of and his bounce is improving along with his shooting. His release is quickening up on his threes. He had 13 points 5 rebs 4 assists 1 steal and 2 blocks in only about 3 quarters played.
Quincy Kirk Quincy Kirk 6'2" | PG Canyon View | 2025 State AZ Canyon View
The floor general of the team makes the extra passes needed to run the offense. He shows great timing on his passes and has real pace to his game. He has an impressive first step to get to the rim with speed dribble drives with body control and finishes with either hand impressively. He had 11 points 4 assists 2 steals.
Adam Hubbard Adam Hubbard 6'4" | CG Canyon View | 2025 State AZ Canyon View
A long combo guard is a good passer and can score. He threaded a couple in traffic and will go on his own personal runs. He has a polished runner but he is looking to let that pretty jumper fly. He has range for days off the catch plus a mid-range jumper off the dribble. He had 24 points 5 rebounds 4 assists.
John Hemsley John Hemsley 6'8" | PF Canyon View | 2025 State AZ Canyon View
A power forward with plus length to rebound in and out of his area. He is very efficient inside and was hustling all night and was even on the floor for a steals and loose balls.
Sergio Ramirez Sergio Ramirez 6'3" | SG Canyon View | 2024 State AZ Canyon View
A skilled scoring guard with confidence. He is a shot maker from the perimeter and can score inside with euro and spin moves. He rebounds well for his position and will make plays.
AJ Harris AJ Harris 6'5" | SF Canyon View | 2026 State AZ Canyon View
A long forward plays both spots for them inside. He rebounds at a high level and defends. He will grab out of area rebounds and scores on put backs. He is very patient and will ball fake and go up to score thru contact.
Heesung An Heesung An 6'4" | SF Canyon View | 2024 State AZ Canyon View
The Trivium Prep transfer is a tough versatile defender. He defended multiple positions and will block shots with his lateral quickness and stronger frame. He gets downhill to score easily in the painted area.
Connor Hendershot Connor Hendershot 6'3" | SF Canyon View | 2025 State AZ Canyon View
My first viewing of Connor and he played well. He is tough inside to rebound, block shots and takes contact well with a stronger upper body. He plays hard and can score in the paint or get fouled. He also has a nice shooting stroke from mid to the three.
Noah Oliver Noah Oliver 6'3" | SG Canyon View | 2025 State AZ Canyon View
A thicker framed combo guard defends and is good on the break. He makes plays with smart passes and uses his strength and speed to keep his opponents in front of him.
Jase Kooima Jase Kooima 6'4" | SG Williams Field | 2024 State AZ Williams Field
A big performance for the senior guard. He plays on and off the ball often during the game. He made a few eye popping passes up the court that led to points. He scores it from all levels with off the dribble and catch threes. He can score with the mid-range jumper off the dribble or drive and absorb contact with his size and frame. He can euro step in traffic and plays hard on defense to rebound and collect steals. He scored 22 points.
Connor Lamont Connor Lamont 6'4" | SF Williams Field | 2024 State AZ Williams Field
A senior just returned to the line up off an injury and showed an all-around game. He can score with mid-range pull-ups, which seems to be his sweet spot. He will drive the lane and score inside. He has a knack for getting to the free throw line and cashing in. He had a balanced stat line of 14 points 6 rebounds 4 steals 2 assists 1 block.
Adam Medina Adam Medina 6'5" | PF Williams Field | 2027 State AZ Williams Field
A long armed forward may of not scored many points but showed a lot for his bright future. He rebounds inside and blocks shots at a good rate. He is a good passer for position and will score falling away in the post and can euro move down the lane.
