C.P.A. hosted their annual event this week, and the lights justifiably capture the special veterans like [player_tooltip player_id='1236529' first='Christian' last='Alston'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1145719' first='Tyler' last='Tanner'], but the event often gives early shine to young, relatively unknown players. Here are a few.

[player_tooltip player_id='2116626' first='Ethan' last='Gatewood'] - Bartlett

Physical specimen. The shooting is a long way away. Gatewood is worth a long, long look.

[player_tooltip player_id='2133797' first='Bryson' last='Wade'] - Brentwood Academy

Elite quickness. Wade was able to slide his feet and defend incredible guards on Bartlett, despite giving up 2 or 3 years of physical maturity to them. Wade did not get to show off his handle much, as Tyler Tann dominated the basketball. This is an area that Wade is known to be very, very strong in.

Lefty Wade missed a wing three-pointer in the third quarter. It looked to be a bit of a push shot, but this was a single shot attempt. Tough to make too much of it.

Wade was able to get a hand on [player_tooltip player_id='2147208' first='R'Chaun' last='King']'s layup attempt to open the fourth quarter. It was quick and clean.

[player_tooltip player_id='2046151' first='Ethan' last='Hillsman'] - Brentwood Academy

Ethan hit a couple of very smooth three-pointers. His game kind of resembles a young Braeden Moore. Wonderful catch-and-shoot guy with height.

[player_tooltip player_id='1277246' first='Shavar' last='Young'] - Brentwood Academy

Shavar is so, so strong. Few guards can match that strength, but Bartlett certainly runs out a couple. The biggest problem teams have when facing Bartlett is dealing with their size and strength. Young was a blessing for BA, because the sophomore could capably get his chest in the way and defend with a rare stoutness.

Shavar was not the shooter of his peers. He also did not force shots, which is nice to see from a talented, young player. Shavar looked like a wonderful teammate.

Young finished a strong layup against muscular defenders midway through the third quarter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2307628' first='Sydney' last='Thompson'] - Bartlett

Quick. Very quick. Small, thin.
