Rankings Round Table: The 2027 Debut

This class is filled with size, skill, and promise of nationally recognized talents. Our rankings round table isn't used to talking about a debut class, but we gave it our best. Here are the answers to a few burning questions.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Who has a high ceiling?</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's hard to say this soon into their career, but there are a lot of guys who could reach high major status. [player_tooltip player_id='2125484' first='Henry' last='Robinson Jr.'] is one of the most athletic and productive forwards in the class with a motor to go with it. [player_tooltip player_id='2294414' first='Jeremy' last='Jenkins'] reminds me of Julius Randle at the same age, with a better jump shot. Oneal Delancey can score with the best players in the state on any given night. [player_tooltip player_id='2294523' first='Elijah' last='Guer'] is already turning heads of college teams while playing against the nation's best talent in the grind session and SIAA. [player_tooltip player_id='2294528' first='Julius' last='Kimani'] is one of the best-kept secrets in the state, and he'd being groomed at Montverde with future McDonald's All-Americans in the gym. These guys are just the tip of the iceberg.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Who has the potential to outplay their ranking this year?</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There's no ranking just yet, but guys like [player_tooltip player_id='2125499' first='Marcos' last='Alberich'], [player_tooltip player_id='2294408' first='Martay' last='Barnes'], [player_tooltip player_id='2294415' first='Madden' last='Geiger'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2294414' first='Jeremy' last='Jenkins'] are all deserving of top 50 honors right now. Alberich is an efficient high-volume three-point shooter who I'd put up against the best shooter in the state right now. Barnes is an electric lead guard that any high school team in the state would want, including the academy teams. Geiger's mix of size, shooting, and confidence make him one of the most intriguing long-term prospects in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Anyone you think will play their way onto this list?</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The freshman class is far from showing all it has to offer. Guys like [player_tooltip player_id='2301692' first='Johnathan' last='Watts'] will likely enter our watchlist by the end of the season. The 6'6 guard has all those tools to be a standout for Edgewater one day. His length and athleticism alone caught my eye this summer. In the second half of the season, he could find his footing and help his team make a push. At the bare minimum, highly competitive practices will make games against his age group feel like a walk in the park this summer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
