A player who I just watched in the playoffs, Pollard impressed with some quick hands defensively and timely shot-making. A wing who has always been able to shoot, it seems like Pollard has taken another jump with his off the dribble shooting and projects as a 3-and-D wing at the college level early in his career.

The most impressive scorer on Tuesday night, Pollard battled foul trouble all night and fouled out with four minutes to play with his team up five points. Usually I’d be critical of a player fouling out in such quick time on the court but Pollard had one extremely questionable foul called on him and two other plays where he was simply going hard after a loose ball, really only two fouls were defensive lapses. When he was on the court, Pollard was getting stuff done as a scorer with a time and space 3-pointer and a corner 3-pointer just before the third quarter buzzer. Pollard’s best move of the game came on the baseline when he stopped and used a step-back jumper to shake the defender and easily score. Good to see Pollard fitting in with my first regular season viewing of him at Westland after he spent the first two years of his varsity career at Harvest Prep.

Harvest Prep got a win by committee on Saturday with a variety of players making impacts. I chose Pollard as my standout due to his strong second half performance. Pollard knocked down a couple shots and also provided a couple of assists in transition. Defensively is where he really shined though, forcing numerous turnovers with his pressure and length defensively. After falling behind early, I was impressed with Harvest Prep’s ability to claw back and secure a win over a previously unbeaten Berlin Hiland squad.

Pollard is a kid who has the talent and skill to have an instant impact on Harvest Prep. He is a really good slasher who does impressive things as an underclassman. He does a great job of absorbing contact and staying on his line when driving. This shows great strength that he had and his manipulating the defender when he drives. He is tough to stop from getting to the rim with his right hand. I like what Pollard brings to the table as a sophomore already.

Another Division V powerhouse, Harvest Prep always has talent that will play at the college level and Pollard is the next young star in line. A prototypical 3-and-D wing, Pollard makes shots off the catch and makes plays defensively. I am hoping to see him become more confident as a ball handler and playmaker in the half court as an upperclassmen, but Pollard already fits in so well on a team with a lot of returning experience from a state championship appearance last season. One of the best wings in central Ohio’s 2027 class, Pollard is a name that fans across the state will become familiar with.

Harvest Prep has a lot of talent and should be a real player in the new seven Division format after making it to the state title game in Division III last year and returning a majority of their core. Pollard has taken that initial jump from freshman to sophomore year and looks more comfortable at both ends. He had a couple lefty finishes early and knocked down a pair of spot-up 3-pointers. Being able to attack closeouts will be the key for Pollard as he already has shown the ability to make perimeter shots at the varsity level.

Harvest Prep were another team that ended up making it to the final four this season and Pollard was a nice complimentary piece with some standout performances this season. A solid shooter with his feet set, Pollard played well off the more experienced Harvest Prep back-court and cashed in on opportunities created by them. Want to see how well Pollard can develop his ball handling ability in the coming years, this along with his growth will really determine his future upside. I already like what he brings as a 3-and-D wing.

Knocking down a buzzer-beater 3-pointer to end the first and second quarters, Pollard is a knockdown shooter from the wing guard position. Harvest Prep has a deep team with a lot of contributors, but Pollard is maybe their most intriguing long-term prospect considering his age, frame and current production. Playing a complimentary role as a 3-and-D wing, I’ll be curious to see how Pollard’s game expands during the summer heading into his Sophomore season.
