Heading into their junior year, we have a lot of movement and new additions to this group. However, there will always be omissions and debates regarding placement among the rankings.
Here’s a look at part two of the forwards rankings, looking at some of the best point and combo guards in the rankings.
15) Troy Henderson Troy Henderson 5'9" | PG Lancaster | 2025 State VA | 5’11” PG | Lancaster (#45 Overall)
The reigning Class 1 Player of the Year and State Champion will have a chance to build a dynasty at Lancaster, and coming off the summer he just had there’s no doubt he’s going to have a huge junior season. He’s a slippery guard with a good handle and the ability to create space off the bounce, he lights it up from deep and in the midrange when he gets it going and he’s a steady playmaker with good feel and vision as well.
14) Jackson Britt Jackson Britt 6'3" | CG Evergreen Christian | 2025 State VA | 6’3” CG | Evergreen Christian (#43 Overall)
Britt is part of an Evergreen group that is set to make a big splash this season with a number of talented prospects, and he’ll lead the team in the backcourt with his ability to both score it and make plays for others. He’s skilled on the ball and knows how to change pace and directions to create space, he can move off the ball where he works well to get open and knocks down shots and he makes great decisions with the ball in his hands too.
13) Khalil Caple Khalil Caple 6'4" | CG Norfolk Collegiate | 2025 State VA | 6’4” CG | Norfolk Collegiate (#42 Overall)
Caple is a new age guard that has a lot to like going forward to the next level as he has great size and plays with a good motor on both ends of the floor. He gets after it defensively as he guards the ball well and uses his length to get deflections and challenge shots, he gets downhill well and is a good finisher around the rim and he’s a good rebounder for his positions as well.
12) Adrian Newton | 6’0” PG | Maury (#38 Overall)
Newton is quickly becoming one of the top guards in the 757, as he has great intangibles as a lead guard to go along with an all-around game that translates to winning at this level and beyond. He’s got good speed in the open floor and a quick first step to blow by defenders, he sets the tone defensively on the ball, he’s a great playmaker and he picks his spots and scores it from all three levels.
11) Camryn Pacheco Camryn Pacheco 6'4" | CG Spotswood | 2025 State VA | 6’3” CG | Spotswood (#37 Overall)
Pacheco is the next in a long line of talented Spotswood players, and he leads a young Trailblazers group that will be a tough matchup for anyone this year. The 6’3” combo guard is a talented shot maker who can drill it from deep and get to spots in the midrange where he uses his size to shoot over defenders, he plays with a good motor as a defender and rebounder and he just keeps getting better with every year.
10) Julian Rivera Julian Rivera 6'1" | PG Highland | 2025 State VA | 6’1” PG | Highland (#36 Overall)
When it comes to lead guards who impact the game in winning ways, Rivera is right there at the top as he helped lead Highland to a state championship last year and had a great summer after reclassifying too. The 6’1” lead guard is cerebral as he has great feel and IQ for the game, he’s a skilled shot maker who picks his spots and scores it from multiple levels and he’s a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions and shut down the other team’s best player.
9) Gavin Cormany Gavin Cormany 6'0" | CG Oak Hill Red | 2025 State VA | 6’1” PG | Oak Hill Red (#30 Overall)
Cormany transferred from Radford to Oak Hill where he reclassified to the 2025 class after leading the Bobcats to a state championship appearance last year, and he’s part of an Oak Hill Red team that has plenty of talent this year. At 6’1” Cormany is able to play on or off the ball and is a talented shot maker from deep and in the midrange, he creates space off the bounce and works well off the ball to get open and he has a toughness about him that is easy to love.
8) Shane Lincoln Shane Lincoln 6'4" | PG Bishop O'Connell | 2025 State VA | 6’4” CG | Bishop O’Connell (#27 Overall)
Lincoln at times will get overshadowed on an O’Connell team that is chock full of talented seniors and will be one of the best teams in the country, but he impacts the game in a lot of positive ways. He is smooth off the bounce and knows how to work in pick-and-rolls and touch the paint, he can score it efficiently from deep and when he gets to the rim and he is a good defender who moves his feet well and uses his length to get deflections and challenge shots.
7) Cy Hardy Cy Hardy 5'11" | PG Nortide | 2025 State VA | 5’11” PG | Northside (#25 Overall)
Hardy had a breakout sophomore season leading Northside to a state championship, and he had a great summer playing against 17U competition and will be one of the top players in Roanoke this year. He’s a highly skilled scorer who is a knock down shooter from deep, he has good wiggle off the bounce and can get to spots in the midrange and at the rim and he’s a tone setter on both ends of the floor. He’s growing into his body and getting more explosive as a finisher, and he’s going to put up big numbers this season for Northside.
6) Masiah Stevens Masiah Stevens 5'10" | PG Woodside | 2025 State #263 Nation VA | 5’10” PG | Woodside (#12 Overall)
Stevens may not be the biggest guy when he’s out there on the floor, but he’s a super dynamic guard who makes things happen on both ends of the court, and he’s going to be one of the go-to guys for the defending state champs. He’s an explosive guard that has great speed in transition and a quick first step to get by defenders, he is a very athletic finisher who can play above the rim at his size and he is an excellent finisher in traffic as well. He is improving as a shooter from deep and he is a very good on ball defender as well.
