Continue ReadingThe Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club nearly 1500 of the states best Class of 2024, 2025, and 2026 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to the high school season. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 4 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo.
***With nearly 150 prospects at our event, I was able to watch 12 of the 16 teams live. Since the event, I’ve gone back to watch the other four on BallerTV in order to complete all of the player evaluations. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and I will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo!***
Caleb Fishel
Caleb Fishel
A three-point marksman from Bloomington High School North, this thin 5’11” guard showed his ability to make shots from beyond the arc at our event on Sunday. Fishel has good footwork when working off of screening action and moving into his shot on the perimeter and then has a quick release as well to get his shot off. That shooting ability also opened up some driving lanes when attacking closeouts.
Crocker impressed with his defensive ability first and foremost on Sunday at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo before flashing his offensive skill later in the event as well. The 5’11” guard from Orleans High School displayed good on-ball defense with active feet, good hands, and come away with a couple steals that led to easy buckets for his team. He also knocked in a pull-up three-point shot in transition. It was a good showing for the two-way backcourt prospect.

Reed is a high IQ point guard that helped to facilitate offense during the first two games before having to leave with a busted eye after diving into an opponent’s knee for a loose ball. The 6’0″ floor general is an excellent passer and is always willing to make the right play for his team. He was very active as an on-ball defender as well.

Harlem Rhodes
Harlem Rhodes
This unsigned senior from Gary West Side High School came down to the Noblesville Boys & Girls and played very well at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. The strong, 6’3″ guard was highly productive scoring the ball from all different spots on the floor. Rhodes made several though shots off of the dribble including a couple of pull-up three-pointers, finished a tough left-handed layup at the end of a nice drive, and threw down a big dunk in transition. He is a talented offensive player that could get onto some colleges radar going into his senior season.
This Southport product showed off his offensive talent on Sunday afternoon and evening at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. Compton is very shifty with the ball in his hands, has a tight handle, and can get into the paint consistently. Once he gets to his spot he has the athleticism and body control to rise up and score as well. He knocked in a couple of shots from beyond the arc as well. Look for him to take on a scoring role at Southport as a junior.
There are certainly some impressive and intriguing physical tools to work with for this 6’3″ wing from Jennings County High School. Juraskovich is a capable catch-and-shoot threat from beyond the arc, but on Sunday he impressed the most with his movement off of the ball and how he contributed without scoring. He flashed into the middle of the defense and was productive from the free throw line area, cut hard away from the ball, and rebounded consistently on both ends of the floor. Impressive motor to go with his physical tools and shooting skills.

Derek Fisher Jr.
Derek Fisher Jr.
The most productive scorer for Team 4 in the game that I watched on Sunday night, Fisher Jr. has good size on the perimeter and a very strong build that he uses to make defenders bounce off of him on his way to the bucket. The 6’2″ guard will play his senior season at Bishop Chatard after being at Riverside last season and should take on a scoring role in the Trojans backcourt. Fisher Jr. knocked in a pair of pull-up three-point shots, created his own shot in the midrange, and used his strength to finish inside at the rim.

This under-the-radar unsigned senior played very well on Sunday at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo to gain a little traction around the state. Hale is a 6’5″ post from Hebron High School that moved well at his size, rebounded at both ends of the floor, and had multiple blocked shots. The strong, agile big man looked comfortable on the roll and when rim-running in transition. A name to keep an eye on going into his senior season.
